The only thing im worried about is that with Judd at Carlton Lance will have a decent year because he won't have to move his fat ass with Judd hitting him laces out all year!
Combine that with Fev getting decent Delivery, this Carlton side could be capable of being a good ordinary side next year.

i agree with everyone else that has posted.
thank the lord that he didn't go to the pies.
however, i still think carlton will be a bit of a force next year.
judd, stevens, murphy, gibbs, carrazo... decent midfield.
give them a few years they might turn out like previous teams who have won the flag.. e.g west coast (cousins, kerr, judd) geelong (abblett, bartel, ling, johnson)

Stevens was exactly the reason they were winning games. Im not going continue argue with you about this because you don't seem to listen and ill never get through to you.
I mentioned that at least 1 of the ruckman will develop and step up soon, i didn't specifically mention Kruezer, and i don't think anyone would rely on a 1st year ruckman to have much of an impact.
Ive said on numerous times that Judd isn't the only reason why i think they will be a good team next year.
Judd is good enough to read the play himself and get the opposition's taps if Carltons ruckman arn't good enough, and his inside team mates will feed it off to the playmaker every chance they get.
Yes they will be giving up picks, but they will still have Kruezer and will probably only have to give up Kennedy, pick 3, and pick 20 which won't effect them as Kennedy has been useless and as iv'e mentioned they have Fisher, Waite, Fev and even Whitnall if stays in shape.
Last of all, yes Carlton have been crap, but ever since Pratt has come on board things are turning around and the high draft picks that they have recieved over the years for "being crap" will pay dividends as they did for the Hawks.
The only the you are right about, is their depth. If they did get a few injuries to important players eg. Fev, Stevens, Judd then they would have a hard time winning games, but i spose that's like with any side really.

Lets not forget that Pagan isnt coaching them next year either.
If they can get some sort of structure to the team setup, get Fevola to commit to football wholeheartedly and drop the distractions outside the club, Judd and Kreuzer will set them up within 2-3 years
Midfield:
Stevens, Gibbs, Murphy, Judd.

plus Thornton and Scotland pushing from the backline. If they could settle someone into chb, they will be cruising. Ratten must be stoked. Lets hope he uses it all better than Thomas did at the saints

I am hoping that Carlton are forced into giving up Picks 1 & 3 to get Judd across. Then have to suffer through Judd having a couple of ordinary seasons (not wishing any harm to the bloke just a bad slump of form) as payback to a club that performed well below its capability this year (Sorry but there is no way they were that bad a side to only win 4 games... especially some of those matches towards the end of the season). 
Hey Schmick, your well reasoned and expressed thoughts are exactly why there's feelings of optimism down at Princes Park (I'll be damned if I'm calling it... whatever it's called now).
I think we're unlikely to play finals in '08, but a finish somewhere between 7-11 would be really good progress. And yes, if those things you're talking about (and some Dons supporters seem unable to read and understand) come off, I think the makings of a real finals side are there for maybe 2010 or so.

You do realise that your round 20 "win" is null and void dont you? How does it feel knowing that Carlton toyed with you and outplayed you for a half of footy only to raise the white flag (even then you struggled) to ensure Judd was a Blue in 08?
Do you think you're a flag chance in the next 5 years considering you couldnt send Jimmy and Kev off with a win against Richomnd?

If any club can cover his loss in the midfield it is them with the likes of cousins (if he stays out of trouble) kerr (arguably the most influential in the afl) priddis, stenglien, fletcher, embley, and a bunch of new young guns like hurn and butler to name a few. If they pick up some good picks in the draft, or even an already established KPP they could do a lot more damage than they did with their injury struck year they had in '07.
Plus a player that has been ineffective at other clubs may just shine when they have a quality midfield delivering the ball to them.
Just a few thoughts. We get an excessive amount of coverage of them over here, plus a number of dockers reports just for comic relief too.

Hardly surprising that some Blues supporters are ashamed to call themselves as such. I know so many previously passionate Blues supporters who "haven't really been following the footy" much the past few years. Hilarious! Weak as pis$ Zuckercorn!!
