Judd's output - 2008

He could be off to a relatively slow start coming off that injury - and he will have to adapt to playing in a side where he'll receive significantly less support than he did at WC. That said, however, I still expect him to have a very good season and show the AFL world that his best is not behind him. I'd expect him to average between 22-25 possessions and a goal a game.

If Judd gets an average of 25 touches a game, as long as he is fit and still has that power in his legs, then the end result will be like a domino effect with the rest of the mids in particular raising their games to another level. Will take those stats ni a heartbeat! :thumbsu:

I understand what you are saying here, however, he'll still take the No. 1 tagger at Carlton, just like he did at West Coast.

and most of the time he would burn every single one of them off, and we as carlton supporters would sit back and dream of having a player such as judd in our team............ :p

i just hope he helps the younger lads find their feet in the game, allowing murphs and simmo to get 20 + possies most weeks. a few well placed bullets to the dukes of fev and fish wouldn't hurt either.

For those saying judd wont be as good because he hasn't got Kerr, Cokeins, Cox to support him must really underestimate him.

Judd unlike most of the Weagles team actually has a brain and can tactically get himself into a game. Buckley, Hird etc had injuries and it was their understanding of the game that allowed them to continually get possessions.

In fact we'll see him at the blues do more than at the eagles for the mere fact at the Eagles he could take his peddle of the metal now and then for a game was well and truly won. Now he has to prove himself all over again and our team is not the eagles just yet.

I rekon he will get 30+ possies in his first game of the season against richmond, thats whyy hes gunna be my captain for dream team round one.
He will have a blinder in his first game.
Overall season hope he gets in top 5 in brownlow at full fitness we saw what he did in the opening round of 07 with the votes

Will he be as good? yes probably. Weagles with no brains and, erm, not tactical? Our mids would block for him, im sure yours will now do the same. However it was handy having other classy mids like cuz and kerr who can get their own ball your other mids must be able to continue to do the same...stevens and carrazo are very important to your team now.

If you see judd do more at carlton then you will have to see him win another brownlow, a premiership, etc....and he hasnt played a game yet. Judd will be good, Carlton will be better for it, but lets not count the chickens jj.

Murphy and Gibbs lack class and poise at the stoppages. :p

The Oh Gibbs! moment will be Gibbs winning the ball in close and handpassing to Judd to run on and kick the goal. ;) :thumbsu:

Will carve it up from Round 1. He was the most heavily tagged player in the AFL and he still racked them up. As they say you "can't keep a champion down" - injuries excepted (touchwood!!).

He is a superstar and I just hope he kills it!!!!

More so the blocking he received from the team, plus the quality of delivery from Cox. Don't get me wrong - I fully expect him to dominate, however I've no doubt it'd be easier to play in WC's midfield than it will be to play in Carlton's. I expect as the season progresses, with Judd and Stevens in there plus the youngers kids gaining more experience and less attention, the blocking and support will improve to a level far beyond what we've seen in recent seasons.

I think Judd made the Eagles midfield look better than it was, not the opposite.

Well, Judd was running around with Cox, Kerr and Cousins in the middle, they all made each other look good, it was such a potent midfield.

Judd will do just fine at Carlton. It will be tougher for him working with an inexperienced ruckman and younger mids, but I'm sure he'll manage.

Judd's output was so injury affected in the second half of 07 that at this stage I am merely hopeful that he shows he is 100% over it. If that takes 6 or 7 rounds into the year, then that will do me fine. I don't want to see him battle through this season with that injury. Or push too hard to get back only to end up battling soft tissue injuries. The Blues are still re-building in 08, so getting a massive year out of Judd is not as important as ensuring for subsequent years (when we will be more competitive) he is firing at 100%. So in summary:

* get through season relatively unscathed (injury wise)
* show old dominance (25 possessions - plenty contested, plenty line breaking, + 1.5 goals per game) in second half of the season

Im reasonably confident Judd will average 25+ possi's each week. Im not sure about goals. 25-30 for the season would be fantastic, but seeing him hit Fev and other forwards on the chest will be what Im hoping for. Judd (barring injury) will be top 3 in the Brownlow. Oh, and we'll sneak into the finals :D

This is my biggest "what if" with Judd at the Blues.

SS is right to the extent that, if you watch any of those highlight reals on youtube, just watch his fellow mids busting a gut to run and block, shepheard etc. I know that we are working on our fitness and this running in numbers etc, but I doubt we will be automatically up to the Eagles standard as far as this goes........how Judd will cope only time will tell.

IMO, his output, 20-25 possies, and 25-30 goals for the year.
