Obviously a sweet, country kid who has gotten in with the wrong crowd. The hangers on see him as easy prey and are making the most of his large disposable income.
Definitely showing signs of mental health issues [emoji2957]

What makes you think they didn't?
Dude bullied his way into the Elimination Finals side and had three touches, then rocked up to the Brownlow medal only to spend the whole night in a toilet cubicle with Clayton Oliver.

I wouldn't even give one twistie or dorito for that flog.

obviously they didn't because it would be impossible to keep it secret

His new friends were revealed on The Front Bar last night.

Very troubling.

Err yes it is,
I'm sure when he signed on to the AFL system he had every mental health resource possible and a whole footy club behind him trying to steer him in the right direction plus dozens of support staff that were part of the indigenous community warning him about the perils of being a potentially talented player with lots of spare time and cash.....yet he made the adult decision to ignore them and make a **** of himself. Where do you draw the line for virtue signalling apologies????

What support staff in Aboriginal communities are warning him? I am intrigued to find out.

every club has aboriginal staff for cultural education these days, also there are afl aboriginal programs too. Lots of outreach for the players ect ect, look @ the indigenous all-stars for example they did lots of community/cultural work with the players not just a game :)

Not sure what my question about Aboriginal Communities has to do with AFL clubs but I will respond and tell you that many AFL Clubs have Aboriginal support programs that are tokenistic box ticking exercises.

aboriginal people, come from aboriginal communities (a lot of the time) and they connect with the AFL and the players, do you really not get that?

I hope , that this does not end poorly for the player....
ie severe mh event, due to online bullying by media and social media.

He needs to be supported now, not rubbished.

Show some leadership Bulldogs.......

What have the Dogs done wrong?

Most Aboriginal people live the same city life as everyone else with just 150,873 of the 983,709 (15.3%) in the 2022 ABS data listed as living in "Remote of Very Remote" areas. Almost half of the entire Indigenous population of Australia is under 20. 52.9% of First Nations males are below the age of 25.

Approx a third of first nations people are under 15. This is a very precious group that needs appropriate influence or there will be a massive problem in 20 years.

More broadly (to haul the conversation away from his Aboriginality for five seconds), how many fallings-out and departures have the Dogs seemingly had under Beveridge?

Michael Talia. Jake Stringer, Tom Liberatore, Luke Dalhaus and Tom Boyd. Bailey Smith. Josh Dunkley having his head turned, Lachie Hunter and Jack Macrae seemingly leaving while still playing good football, Chris Grant has a falling out with Beveridge.

Not sure about all the players you listed there but my understanding is that Dunkley leaving had little to do with Beveridge. Was due to a small cohort of players who lacked professionalism, some of who aren’t at the dogs anymore. Sure you can pin that partly on Bevvo.

Bevo is a terrible coach.
It amazes me the lack of scrutiny he gets.

Remember they only won the 2016 GF because of rigged umpiring!
