People keep saying exceptional talent etc. I’ve watched him fairly closely and I’ve never really seen it. Looks timid at the contest to me, not tall enough to be a marking KPF and not hard enough to get his own footy.
197 cm. Is tall enough. Doesn’t really crash packs tho

Nah he definitely has talent and does crash packs. If he was all the things you mentioned he wouldn't have generated so many shots or taken so many contested grabs last year.

His main issue on the field is accuracy.

Correct. 45.35 last year and some OOB. Had he shot at ~65%, you're looking at a 50 goal season and the gap between goals and behind is bigger.

Seems like he’s just revelling in the fact he’s getting paid a heap and knows he can’t be sacked due to the floored system.

He’s just too young and naive though to realise that money still won’t last long when the contract finishes. Life is long and not cheap.
I say this with as much sincerity as possible. Let’s hope he never works it out while he’s in the “AFL” system

Good news given the circumstances re: Darcy, but he'll still be a huge loss for the next 8 to 12 weeks.
Any chance campaigner Jamarra might rock up to training this week?

Without going through all 40 pages of this thread has there actually been any solid information about what exactly is going on with Jamarra that has been so concerning for the Dogs and the AFL? Is it just a matter of dickhead mates, or are his mates alleged criminals, like what's the go?

Sometimes wonder if it’d be a good idea to have an amount of the first contracts salary capped or only a certain amount available and the rest put into a trust fund or similar before a certain age.
Or can only be used to buy assets.

You can’t turn an addicts life around but you can stop enabling em.
Stop the cash flow.

I wonder what the insurance policy says for mental health in the AFL. Back in the early mining days a heap of FIFO workers had a mental health clause in their income protection insurance. Quite a few now sit at home going to doctors appointments claiming mental health income protection until they retire...

Wouldnt surprise if JUH plans on something similar

Draftees are adults so I'm not sure why they shouldn't be in control of their own finances.

His mates would know.

Agents and managers would kick up a stink because they've all got property and investment associates with designs on the cash.

He's just not showing up to work. That's the main concern I'd say.

You’d have to think he’s claiming mental health issues are making it impossible to fulfill his contract requirements. Most employers these days would try and support absenteeism due to genuine mental health issues. Not sure a few idiotic social media posts would invalidate the base claim. Certainly annoys the employer and industry at large, but without those, most would be too scared to not support unlimited time away these days.

Employers have a legal requirement to give minimum of 10 personal leave days a year, once you burn through those you use Annual leave (which is already used at the end of the season), then you go on leave without pay.

If mental health is the issue and you are doing everything right good employers will continue to help you but in JUH’s case he’d not be getting paid.

He’s taking the absolute piss though, and the system and AFLPA are letting him get away with it

AFLPA's tied everyone's hands on this.
The club have no levers whatsoever. JUH can carry on pissing up his life with his scumbag mates and the only thing the Dogs can do is keep on financing it.
The only thing that will stop this is an arrest, an overdose or a serious episode of FAFO.

Won’t play this year not that it’s a shock. Deeply involved with the wrong people and this is stopping him playing footy. If he shows up to a game or training he can be tested and that could be career ending. There’s a reason jorno’s can’t and won’t say what is actually happening. Because it’s pretty bad reminiscent of a banned demon but much worse

Barely touch some sense into him.

Balta vision was damning
