It’s more that the AFL will black list any journo that steps outside what they want to see in the media. No more access to games, players or press conferences. Bye bye media accreditation for you as an individual and your organisation. Given how well Football content traffics it’s a lot to risk.

Clayton Oliver the best example. Why did we find out he had a seizure at his house..... after the fact ie. they chased the ambulance and guessed the issue before they knew. Why has Clayton Oliver had a 2 year hitjob on his name while JUH gets a free ride?
Either treat JUH how you treat guys like Oliver or leave Clayton alone seems fair to me

the media has reported both of these players pretty much the same. “Complex issues” “culture issues” “professionalism issues”. Don’t remember any media saying stuff other than this in Oliver’s case.

This is straight out of the NFL playbook. External journos have highly controlled access to team practice facilities, coaches, and players. If they breach that trust, that are done. Some stories re: players escape into the mainstream media and are widely reported on (e.g. Ray Rice) but many don't.
We (I worked @ NFL media) briefed the AFL at least twice in the time I was there on this exact subject.

Rubbish. Oliver got linked to drugs right away, had to make multiple statements about it, was chased in a ambulance, was called fat, lazy, disinterested, unprofessional
JUH just has mental health issues and likes to "party too much" .

What you’ve shared is basically the equivalent of the media showing photos of Jamarrah and his dumb eshay mates, and people commenting that he’s on drugs.
So him and Oliver have been treated exactly the same, glad we got to the bottom of that.
