UPDATED NUMBERS: 8, 10, 21(?), 22, 23, 24, 32(?), 38, 40, 41, 42(?) & 43

*Note: I put the question marks next to Colledge, Tunbridge and Watermans numbers as they've been de-listed with the possibility of being re-rookied.

Duggan to 8. Just because his leadership qualities and personal traits are pretty similar to Waters.
Redden to 10
Jetta to 14
Barrass to 23
Nelson to 24
Jordan matera to 30

I would think there may be an open slather on the numbers over the summer.
Historically the first round pick has first pick but since we are not in until the second round, it may be an opportunity to ask some of the recent recruits what they want. Not like we are going to get an absolute star with pick 23 (expect the 30th best player in a thin draft) so would not expect the red carpet treatment.

Colledge, Newman, Tunbridge and Waterman may well retain their numbers but Colledge and Tunbridge are no certainties for being selected IMO.

So with decent numbers, that gives us 8, 10, 22, 23, 24 for sure and 21 and 32 as possible.

If Duggan opts for another number, a good sign that he will be wanting to stay. Let's hope so.
Possible if Tunbridge not picked that Jetta gets 32. If Jetta wants 32, good chance Tunbridge loses it anyway.
Something feels right with Redden retaining 30 and Nelson gets something lower as I believe he is a 150 plus game player.
May also be that Redden gets 10 or 8 - then he can sit next to the man who will feed him the ball!
If Barrass gets 23, that would be a shot in the arm that he is seen as a long term Glass replacement.

Must admit - this is a long break at present and November has only just started.

8: Redden (close to his old teammate Yeo)
10: Jetta (next to his colts teammate(?) NicNat)
22: Giles
23: Barrass
24: pick 23 or whatever that becomes
32: pick 31
37: Matera(r)
38: pick 62
40: rookie
41: rookie

Don't understand people having Nelson shift out of 30 - seeing Peter Matera's name on the locker would be pretty special I'd have thought.

Is there any rule against numbers above 50?

Surely some hipster draftee will request 77 or something one day.
Or Mal Brown when he debuted for Claremont with number 100.
He had the front to get away with it. (He also had the girth at that stage of his career to display the full number).

Ok New jumper numbers
Duggan to 8
Nelson to 10
Partington to 14
Barrass to 23
Waterman to 22
Cole to 24
Redden to 30 (number at brissy)
Jetta to 32 (also his old number) (if tunbridge gets delisted)
Kurtimer to 38
Allen to 40
Giles to 42

Predicting a big year for Chops given his new number.

Might be a good sign that he is happy to stay at the eagles too, despite some speculation that's been floating around in these parts to the contrary. I'm not sure why you'd bother changing numbers if you didn't plan to stay. Though I think from memory Ebert dropped down to #5 in his final season :p

Lamb to 10 is unexpected. Thought he would have had to earn it. Didn't Selwood go from 28 to 10 as well?

He did.

10 has appeared in more games than any other jumper so maybe Lamb thinks it'll help him with selection?

Some other useless factoids:
23 - Jetta will be the first non-key position player to wear it (Glass, Fewster, P.Harding, Rance, Bartlett)
24 - Parto just the fourth player to wear it (Woosha, Rosa and a brief cameo by Phil Read in 2003)
40 - Obviously the new players have decided it's cursed; of the players to have been allocated 40 since Troy Wilson left it 2003 only Cale Morton has managed a senior game (and he only played 3)

Really thought Barrass would have been given a new jumper. thought he showed enough this year to get one. Duggan should have got 8 or 10. Tho if Masto or brown leave at the end of the year, he might end up with 1 or 7.

Well, I got two right! Pretty disappointed Nelson didn't get the #8, Barrass didn't get #23 and Jetta didn't get the #30 though.

I'm finding it hard to imagine Lamb in the #10 atm.

I agree with avishka5, if Brown leaves I can see Duggo in the #1.

Also, is this possibly the quickest the club has released Jumper numbers? IIRC we're usually left waiting for a long time, like most things.

Jack Redden will wear number 8 formerly worn by Beau Waters

Lewis Jetta will wear number 23, made famous by former captain Darren Glass.

Jonathon Giles will wear number 22 which was vacated by departing ruckman Callum Sinclair.

Luke Partington will wear the famous number 24,
Tom Cole will wear 28,
Kurt Mutimer 38,
Matthew Allen 43
while rookie selection Jordan Snadden will wear 41.

Tom Lamb, who wore 28 in his only game of 2015, has moved into guernsey number 10 which was left vacant by Scott Selwood.

Brant Colledge (21), Simon Tunbridge (32) and Alec Waterman (42) will retain their existing numbers.

No reason that I see to shed 14. He can be our 1st ever captain to wear 14.

Being a bit more senior than a lot of you young Turks I seem to remember Michale Brennan (who was Worsfolds Vice Captain in the early 1990's)
Filling as the Captain in a couple of games when the silent assain was out and Monkey wore # 14.

I stand to be corrected on this one but I am pretty sure that it happened.
