Collingwood have approached Nick Davis 's manager to see if he would be interested in returning to Collingwood.

Source: A mate who usually gets some good info - make of it what ever you like

Better increase the medical budget if Nicks coming back. And the tissue supplies for when he gets sad again. I think Nick for BK is the way to go! (Joke fellas)

I really can’t see this being true but for the sake of it:

Nick Davis was the biggest young talent on our list 2 years ago unless Tarrant was still young then. Unfortunately he has not progressed an inch in the last 3 years. He seems mentally and physically soft. Talent wise I'd love him back. Output wise i am not so sure. Forget all the crap that went on while he was leaving. I don't think he or Eddie handled the whole thing as well as they could have.

Right now I'd love to add his talent to our list. The only question is at what cost. Surely we'd have to offer less than we paid since he hasn't produced since he left.

FWIW Davis is a better forward and a better midgfielder than Didak. Whether he will ever prove that is another matter though.

I would love him at Collingwood,

Collingwood may have approached him, but he never will come back to Collingwood, as we all know, he will stay in Sydney, Mr Homesick.

Give them Nixon, Walker, Kinnear and Cole and then we can make some room on our list whilst destroying the swannies

ALTHOUGH Davis was one of our worst performers in the 2002 GF he was a hell of alot better than Walker, Kinnear and COle in 2003

If we can get rid of the 4 players at the top then I would welcome anyone to the club no matter the past

Cole is an emerging talent. I wouldn't trade him for Davis.
One bad game has no bearing on his potential.

Regarding the others, Walker was a selection error last GF but still has potential as a CHB. Kinnear was poorly managed on the day and spent 90% of the day on the bench despite Collingwood being desperate for a tall forward that would make a contest.

IMO We should have played Tarrant at FF, Kinnnear at CHF forcing the ball to ground and hopefully taking a mark or two, and a fleet of smalls in theforward line - Davis, Didak, Holland and Burns. McKee should have played instead of Walker, giving McKee or Fraser a chance to play forward, and McGough should have got a run due to the damp conditions. It might not have worked but it sure as hell would have been better than J Cloke and R Shaw in the forward line.

Kinnear's a dud, agreed, but I'm sure the Swannies would not enter into a deal for BK. When Kinnears' Collingwood career ends so will his AFL career.

COLE???? I reckon he has been great the last couple of weeks. Has been one of our better players!! Surely you are not suggesting we should get rid of someone who is playing well and looks to have a lot of potential ahead of someone such as O'Bree!!

Am I delusional in thinking that Cole is playing well or do others agree??

I don't see any harm in floating the question, but it won't happen.

Hypothetically, if it did, it'd be great to have a 4 goal per game* small forward on the list. What's the price??

*@ 2 games per year, that's a total of 8 goals.

Skill counts for 0 if you've got no ticker! He would have to be the softest player in the AFL, and as a package i would take Didak anytime before that whimp Davis. Everyone knows how to play him - hit him hard early and that is the end of his game. He actually used to look scared playing against Brisbane.

Five of the eight are in junk time after the game is already over.

Round 21 2002 vs St.Kilda = a prime example.

2 goals for a 2 kick game in the last quarter.

I didn't know he's the long lost third son of Mrs Rocca.

actually those two goals in the last quarter won the game, he spent most of the game on the bench because of OP. Saints would have won but for that bomb from outside fifty and the other goal. I think he had a knack for kicking goals when needed and when fit this year was a great impact player. He was probably unlucky to be kicked on the ankle which injured the bone. Has not been back since.

I CANT SEE DAVIS COMING BACK AS THE REASON HE LEFT WAS HE WANTED TO GO HOME.

THERES NO DOUBT HES GOT TALENT AND IF HE CAME BACK IT WOULD MEAN WE COULD GET RID OF THE OTHER DAVIS, NOW THATS SOME ONE WITHOUT HEART.

AND THEN THEY CAN PALY DIDAK IN THE MIDFIELD

C'mon hotpie! Kinnear hasn’t made more than 4 successful contests in his career. He doesn't even compete that strongly in the VFA much less in a GF against the strongest team at least since the hawks in Brisbane. His only play is a chest mark on a lead and then to wait 15 minutes before turning it over. If ever there was an obvious dud Kinnear is it. At least McKee can actually read the game and make position.

As for selection, It should have been Rupe, McGough and as much as it pains me to say it, McKee. At least McKee could have banged into Keating and floated back across half back and in front of Lynch. Rupe would have proved some strong at the ball and man contests (unlike Kinnear) and McGough could have been valuable in the clearances with McKee tryi9ng to negate Keating’s thumps.

The other mistake which I know I banged on about all last year was not debuting Cam Cloke in the middle of the year. He was actually the perfect type of player for that game. He still wouldn't have been ready but if played instead of McKee in my above scenario would have been a contest like you wanted from Kinnear as well as an alternative in the ruck. At least we know 1 thing. He would have thrown his body into it. What annoys me is that we didn't set up the possibility during the year.

Davis is apure quality footballer with a wonky body. His skills and nous are absolutely first rate and he wins contests even when a physical mismatch should rule him out. I'd take him back in a trice and trade more than we got for him to do so.

Maybe Sydney undervalue him because of his continuing injuries (geez I hope so) but if and when his body comes good, he will be a star.

1. BUILD A TIME MACHINE (YOU COULD DOUBLE WITH FIGJAM AND MAKE IT A HOVER-TIME MACHINE)

2. TELL MALTHOUSE THAT

3. BUY ME THE PIES 2003GF DVD

Does Tim Watson read BF?

He alluded to this rumour on SEN last week
He said something like "A very talented young player is considering returning to his original club after spending 2 years at his second club"

I thought it was that a club is trying to entice a play to where it considers its rightful home. He said the guy was talented. There was speculation that it was Goddard but this was denied. There was also speculation that it was Cole to Essendon.
