I agree most of the trade ins of late havE been hacks , I thought we were going alright when we bought in grigg, Houli, Chaplin and Maric , all be 200 game players so hard to argue . There's a gulf between that lot and Moore/Townsend and others. Recruiters have lost the plot and need to be accountable , NM have done a much better job at retaining high draft picks and adding to their core with qty experienced players via fa mainly or trade

Also speaks volumes to me Bo. Would these guys get 200 games at Hawthorn, Sydney, West Coast, Adelaide? Wouldn't have thought so. Sure those teams may have developed them to a level beyond what we've got them too, but we took them in after their early AFL development anyway. We're happy to house "toilers" for seasons, whereas good teams would have them traded out at the peak of their value. Ok, they filled a hole when we were a complete rabble, but they're the sort of players that will never take you deep in a finals campaign. All 3 of those highlighted have made consistent howling mistakes in pressure games (including those finals), over the last few years, something that good teams wouldn't put up with.

I agree that every team needs a large bunch of "B-graders", but this is our problem. For decades we've rated many of our players "good solid B-Graders", where in reality they'd be firmly on other teams D-list.

So agree that the recruiters need to be accountable, but they've hardly fired a shot beyond the first round draft picks. Trading has been abysmal via lack of action for mine.
