Just getting this off my chest.....

The only Lions GF I went to was 2004. :poo:
I was living In Warrnambool at the time and watched the three Premierships on TV. Had a perfect system worked out too. Six Boags Strong Arm Bitters in the fridge and six beer glasses in the freezer. One beer per quater and two to celebrate winning the Flag. Shouldn’t have broken tradition.
Same here, watched 2001-03 on TV and decided to make the trip down for 2004, we were sitting about 15 rows back from where Lynch threw those haymakers.

I agree with DERRINALPHIL Browny and Lynch should never have played. Shaun Hart copping a serious injury in the prelim was a massive blow as well, not to mention the scheduling and the venue allocation.

I don't like it much either at the moment but the thread about the new software seems to suggest that most of my issues (including a poster's team being returned) will be solved as they fix things up. Not sure why they wouldn't test more heavily before they rolled it out but anyway...

Glad it's not just me, thanks........I'm still having log in issues, only once or twice has it let me log in straight away, mostly I'm having to do the "robot" thingy. I get dispondent when I see a note up the top saying the forum changes are complete etc.........surely not, there are still problems.

Especially since the last upgrade also included a no team visible issue they had to fix..

If you've having issues you can report them on https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forums/suggestions-feedback-and-announcements.8/. I don't believe anyone checks individual team forums for people having issues.

Went to all four GF's. All I can remember from the 2004 game is the sinking feeling that came over me late in the third when I knew we were gone.

All week, I've exercised restraint and have HEAVILY moderated my attitudes to Port - and you go bring me this, like a dog returning a foreleg of a recently buried victim to a crazed psychopath :)

I like it :D

Yes. I stand, resolute, in my bitter and all-consuming distaste for everything teal, black and white. A fiery judgment of biblical proportions wouldn't satisfy the need in me to see this manifestation of evil suffer at every turn on a footy field. Even were they never to win another game, still my seething, steaming disgust at their very existence would remain unsated. They are an anathema to all that is light and pure on the footy field, for they embrace a repellent, alien manner redolent of inhuman dimensions where logic and reason have no foothold. Proclamations of support for Port are like the broken, guttural croaking of nameless shamen engaged in dark rituals, who seek to blot out the sun and plunge the world into primeval chaos.

And we alone, my friends, are in their path - for all eternity, it falls to us to shine the blazing light of footy truth into the dark recesses of Port and illuminate for all to see their corruption, which spreads throughout the world like tentacles of a beast from nightmare.

I’ve always hated Port. So much so that one of my favourite wins was our 2008 comeback from 40+ points down in the rain at Football Park.

In a pretty lean period for us at least I could enjoy our port death ride and Polec sinking them. It’s a bonus that it lead to us getting Charlie Cameron too.

There are those days, on BF, (and indeed through all of life's spheres) when everything is cool and fluffy.

Then there are days like today, when you just wanna grab someone and reduce them to a pile of unrecognisable pulp.

Today is one of those days.

Thanks, nameless poster, for stoking the fires of my burning hatred of Port - not that I NEEDED any more fuel, but....thanks anyway.

Life seriously sucks at times!

Have been at mum's since xmas keeping an eye on her due to ill health, then arranging to get her into an aged care place (that was a nightmare on its own, due to dealing with the Govt etc) then the moving part, packing up and cleaning out her unit....hopefully finished on sunday and then home to melbourne!

...but it never ends, today we found out my Mr MM has lung cancer. At this stage doesn't seem to be asbestos related although he did work with it at times. Probably due to smoking. Specialist is hopeful as it hasn't spread, and hasn't attached to the lining of lungs. Is the size of 20c piece, that worries me a bit though.

Anyhoo, he's off to see other specialists at RMH to see which way to treat it. Not sure why not going to Peter Mac.

We're a positive lot in my family, no dramatics or tears, just go with it and deal with it as it comes is the only way at the moment.

...if my boys keep winning will help to deal with all this and we can smile about something........and mum loving her new residence also helps heaps.

We soldier on as they say, but I did feel like letting out some profanities .

Just let it go MM, it might make you feel a bit better too.
Hope all goes well!

Damn MM, I am sorry to hear that but touched you chose to share it with us, your LION FAMILY.

I hope it all goes well (or as well as it can) and I'm sure I speak for all of us on BF when I say we are cheering you on :)

LIONS FOREVER!

Pissed off with Chanel 7 (73) at the moment!
The scheduled time for the broadcast on Saturday night is from 6 - 9pm.
The game doesn’t start until 6.25 add to that a game time of approx 2 hrs and 45 mins and that takes it to 9.10pm approx.
My TV only allows me to record until 10mins past the scheduled broadcast time. Which sux because they did something similar for the game against West Coast and I missed the last 5 mins of the game on the recording.
I am pretty sure that channel seven kept the broadcast going past the scheduled broadcast time because the game went longer, but that doesn’t help me, because I can’t record for any longer.
F*** you Channel 7!

Just record the show after it then delete it once you’ve watched the replay.

After I posted that, I had doubts that I should have....

....but you guys and gal are really remarkable and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kind responses, it definately does help. Not sure where all this latest news will lead Mr MM and I but we'll do it together and hopefully remain as positive as possible. Can't fall in a heap now, doesn't help anyone.

Will miss this game again, but next week I'll be home, so looking forward to see our boys for the first time this year..

Love my Lions and our Lions family, cheers to all of you:hearts::hearts:

Hopefully our Lions will help to keep a smile on your face MM!
And it’s good that the St’s are going ok too for Mr MM, (Don’t expect me to say that ever again).
But as I said earlier, I do hope all goes well!
