Life seriously sucks at times!

Have been at mum's since xmas keeping an eye on her due to ill health, then arranging to get her into an aged care place (that was a nightmare on its own, due to dealing with the Govt etc) then the moving part, packing up and cleaning out her unit....hopefully finished on sunday and then home to melbourne!

...but it never ends, today we found out my Mr MM has lung cancer. At this stage doesn't seem to be asbestos related although he did work with it at times. Probably due to smoking. Specialist is hopeful as it hasn't spread, and hasn't attached to the lining of lungs. Is the size of 20c piece, that worries me a bit though.

Anyhoo, he's off to see other specialists at RMH to see which way to treat it. Not sure why not going to Peter Mac.

We're a positive lot in my family, no dramatics or tears, just go with it and deal with it as it comes is the only way at the moment.

...if my boys keep winning will help to deal with all this and we can smile about something........and mum loving her new residence also helps heaps.

We soldier on as they say, but I did feel like letting out some profanities .
Sending all the love I can your way! I echo the sentiment - your Lion family is here for you!

In my experience life always seems to dump multiple piles of crap simultaneously. You have obviously been doing a wonderful job caring for your mother - she’s lucky to have you at her side - and you have remained positive and got the job done throughout those frustrations. I have no doubt you will cope with this next battle with the same capable ability.

We’ll all be here to support you if you need to vent or escape in footy speak. Shouting and yelling at footy is a great stress relief.

...an update on the post above.

My husband had his lung operation yesterday, took one whole lobe out and confident all should be well (at this stage) He has come through it remarkably well, sitting up, tubes everywhere and giving cheek to all and sundry!

Haven't posted before this as we have been in and out of the hospital having tests etc with not a lot to report until now....The staff at the hospital have been exceptional too which helps.

I'm staying in a hotel close by the hosp for the first few days, hoping I can go home saturday in time to see the game as they have Foxtel here, but not 503-504! Playing it by ear at the moment.....fingers crossed.

The memories that hurt from that game was the behaviour of Lynch and Brownie. Both shouldn't have played, especially Brown who 'did' a knee the week before. I seem to remember Lynch carrying an injury into the game and being a liability in more ways than one. During the match I thought it was a very sad ending to a wonderful career.
Browny cooked it in the fitness test the day before. Had he not gone through that test he would have been fine to play the GF

Just an update for those kind people who responded to my above post...

Mr MM had had his lung operation and has been having chemo, has come through both those remarkably well although there was a major hiccup in the middle....he developed blood clots that put him in ICU for a number of days and he was a very sick boy. once home he's fine. Has to give himself injections every day now and has 2 cycles of chemo to go...

Has lost his hair...or what was left of it anyway! His moustache has gone too:)

So sorry to hear your sad news MM.
I’m not a religious man, but wishing you and your family all the best and sending through good vibes. Hopefully the lions can ease a little bit of your pain and your greyhound gives you all lots of love.
Just goes to show as passionate as we are, football is just a game.
All the best
