40% of zero rounds to be exactWe’re hitting new heights. Can’t even make it thru one round without declaring season over
Man, I wish my team could've given up three firsts to get Tim Kelly then instantly get back four picks in the top 20 from the Academy. What a complete and total rort, I'm just glad my team's rubbish right now and doesn't have its run at the flag ruined by one of these manufactured eras.
This would have hit harder if it came from a supporter of a club that…
- hadn’t won a flag in the last decade
- has just received the first pieces of what looks like being a multiple-year assistance package
Yep. Talking about hitting harder. Who ended up with that assistance pick in the end?
Oh. Your club.
After gaining a gun free agent at no draft cost and then benefiting from AFL rules that forced the Eagles to trade that assistance pick for a free agent.
And then the back to back premiers landed the best pure mid in the draft at a discount.
So under the AFLs rules the rich got richer and the poor had to pay overs. No wonder the AFL needs to hand out assistance to struggling clubs sitting at the bottom of the ladder for years.
Every year the AFL is feeding assistance to premiera and finalists who dont need any hekp.

It’s irrelevant thought right in respect to the point that’s being made. Whatever club you support, the current compromised access to top end talent is a jokeThis would have hit harder if it came from a supporter of a club that…

You were fine with the rules when Brisbane were losing player after player in Free Agency when they were at the bottom of the ladder.
And, here they are currently double dipping with Ashcroft brothers, Fletcher, Annabelle for bag of twisties then topping up with interstate talent like Allen, Draper, Neale, Daniher, etc. Amazing system, makes complete senseYou were fine with the rules when Brisbane were losing player after player in Free Agency when they were at the bottom of the ladder.

We played by the free agency rules that apply to every club. You are the ones that asked the AFL to inexplicably and arbitrarily toss the rule book aside just for you. Then you all somehow tried to act like victims when they said no.
The rule applies to every club equally, the value of free agents in is deducted from the value of free agents out. Then compensation is applied on the net balance. The utter entitlement of thinking you deserved special dispensation to cash in Oscar Allen (who you didn’t want to keep) for a top 3 pick and then get Starcevich for free is off the charts. We already did you a favour by ensuring you got band 1 compensation for Allen, and still you want more.
And if you paid “overs” for Starcevich, it wasn’t because you were forced. If you don’t like the trade, blame your list manager. No one forced you to do that deal.
I won’t even dignify the “who ended up with the assistance pick” statement with a response. I think if you take a deep breath and unpack that rationally, you’ll see the obvious flaw.
Think the issue is your getting first dibs on those that are developed and than getting compensation for losing them if you do that others aren't getting. I get it don't get me wrong but let's not pretend it's not a significant leg up. Take advantage of it is all I will say until the AFL step in and make changes.GC: Stop raiding our draftees.
