News emerging from the England camp that they recently tried to contact Novak Djokovic, to enquire about the best way to have their visas cancelled.
Hear hear. Hopefully next summer, we can have some competitive cricket to discuss - after South Africa demolished the Indians, I reckon we might be half a chance.Great thread The Greatest Ava a great place to talk cricket.
Looking forward to Pakistan actually, their bowling more than likely will test us, but yes, much nicer pace than the actual cricket board, so great idea indeed.Hear hear. It's more of a sport than the F1 you mentioned.Very much an armchair sports fan though I did join a cricket club when I was in Australia. I'll watch the F1 this weekend for one the first times this season, it looks like an exciting finish.
Without getting into the debate on whether it's a sport, I'm watching the World Chess Championships atm.
I do not give a rats backside about the ICC and its dismal rules and even less for the standards set by other countries.
IMO Sniffy, the FTB Slogger and Bannedcroft should have never played First Class Cricket again. The three got off lightly. Sniffy's appointment as vc showed CA expect fans to have the memory of goldfish.
StFly said:As Smith is also generally in the cordon, it's mostly he's in great position for it, as well as Carey who obviously wasn't VC since newer debut. Odd flex to query the VC status I'd have thought. They've all mostly experience leading Shield teams, AUS A, AUS and county or franchises as if you don't involve such experience in the moments.
So the rules which govern cricket are no longer applicable because you said so? Righto. What happened was very disappointing but hardly worthy of players being banned for 9-12 months let alone not playing first class cricket again.
Embarrassing that someone would even suggest that players not play cricket again because they rubbed paper on a ball. We've got people being banned for lesser timeframes for more serious offences but rubbing paper on a ball is sacrilege? Okay bud. As mentioned before, trial by media at its finest and certain sections of the public lapped it up because it was in their face each day.
Completely agree. He's vice captain, has experience and has a good view of the game from the slip cordon. Some people just don't have a clue about the game unfortunately.
"They've come to watch me bat, not you bowl."I expect the Poms to cheat. I like to think we have higher standards.
I just don't understand the over the top reaction to sand paper gate.
It is a fairly minor offence, that rarely works with a well tested stipulated penalty.
In Cape town the tampering was more glaring, but also didn't work, the umpires checked the ball and didn't change it. The batsman continued to whack it around.
Woakes used his finger nail to pick at the seam in the last test and the ball was actually changed. He did it in front of the umpire who reminded him that you can't do that. The ba was later changed. That is (although less nefarious) actually worse tampering.
I see the aftermath of England's Ashes disaster has continued - they've just been dismissed for 103 in a T20 against the West Indies.
Their batting is equally as poor. 6/120 at tea.Pommy pain continues in the women's Ashes Test. They put us in, and had us struggling at 3 for 43. No more wickets since - now 3 for 186.
Heather Knight is their Joe Root - she's got around half their score. Without her, they would have followed on by now.Their batting is equally as poor. 6/120 at tea.
Looks like she'll do what Root couldn't - a century in Australia.Heather Knight is their Joe Root - she's got around half their score. Without her, they would have followed on by now.
