In Brereton's Herald Sun article RE the cats fortunes this year entitled "Catalysts: Gary Ablett and Wojcinski" he finishes his patronising (given he hates Geelong with a passion) dissertation with the line...

"Just watch for icebergs"...my version of this reads "just watch for 'ice'bergs"...

We all know Dermott was a great footy player and what made him great was his ego...I guess he just couldnt watch the success of his side happily without firing a broadside at a club he really truly does despise.

I guess I could have posted this article in Bay 13...or the AFL board but then again it would get removed just as quickly as a couple of my other posts did yesterday.

So here's to freedom of speech and saying what you know without really implicating the actual people involved.

Fortunately I dont have to even make my own assumptions/allegations or anything of the sort...Dermott the literary 'kid' a la James Joyce has done it all for me. I would suggest to Derm before he talks about the Titanic though he might read another boat story called Ulysses before imagining his footy skills are anything like his literary ones.

I understand what you are saying WAG, but with an injunction being placed over the whole issue stating that the name of the club or players cannot be mentioned means BF has to comply. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech and no such right actually exists on this forum.

But if details are published on this site against the orders of the injunction then legal action could be taken against BF. This is why many threads/posts have been deleted and some posters given infractions. The mods are trying to keep things cool until the outcome of the challenge channel 7 is conducting to the injunction has been resolved either way.

So I ask anyone to discuss the whole issue in broad terms and not to name names or clubs involved. Any person not doing this will have their posts deleted and given a serious infraction. This is orders from the top and applies to all boards on BF. You have all been warned and I hope you all exercise some common sense in the matter.

This injunction wont last forever and you will be able to discuss it sooner than you think.

cheers

(As long as you don't think it's before next Thursday);)

I don't mind Dermott's comments, he has a much better handle on the game than most ex-players/coaches. Sometimes he gets wrapped up in his own analysis (the crap about the midfield being too slow for instance last year - basically the same players this year and the same the year before last) but he does have good instincts.

He does hate us, but he's not obsessed (like Grant Thomas, who has spent most of the last month or two talking up the Saints and how worried the Cats must be about them getting into form). To be fair, we aren't the only ones he hates either.

If last nights effort is anything to go by, I don't think any clubs can be concerned about the saints in the finals. So Grant can KMA!

Disappointing match to watch, they rolled over under the pressure of the WCE aftr 1/2 time. A couple of injuries and they were gone. Annoying because I tipped them considering they were playing at the dome, have 1/2 a player in Judd, no Kerr, Cousins was the one they needed to shutdown (didn't happen), Hanson strained his hammy.. we could go on..

I really wanted to see the saints get up for this one, just to make the finals a bit more interesting.. oh well.

IMO the saints are far from coming in to form, and in fact I think they ran themselves out of form last night.

So again, Grant can KMA. :thumbsd:

Agree completely. He was on SEN pre-game and was saying "If St Kilda can keep up the kind of pressure they did last week against Freo there is no team in the competition which will be able to implement its game plan" which is a bit like us saying "If Geelong can kick 35 goals every week like they did against Richmond they'll win every game". Oddly this morning on radio Grant was talking about how the list - the list that he built, with heaps of very early picks, and which he was talking up as virtually unbeatable last night - was highly overrated!

To be honest I've never worried too much when we play the saints with a near full list. Shut down Gehrig (which Scarls does very well), hold Riewold to three or four, kick a dozen goals and you're almost guaranteed to win. It's really only when we have serious injury concerns that they worry me - the ultimate flat track bullies.

I hope so.

Wouldnt it hurt to think it was someone we knew, or felt like we knew, personally.

Someone we've supported and stuck close by - and this year finally arre getting more than value for money...

LOL, it would hurt, HC.

Rustybungles should now have enough ammunition to bolt his mate's trap shut for the rest of the season.

OOHHH, JOHNNOOO!!!
Bomber cried "HAVOC", AND UNLEASHED THE DOG OF WAR!
...ahem...
