What the heck? Jy Simpkin

Got on the piss, walked a red light, hit by motorcycle and out for 4 weeks with an ankle injury. Stupid to walk home while intoxicated, better than drunk-driving (should have got a taxi/mate/uber to pick him up), he's young and this is largely out of character for him though, so he should hopefully learn from his mistake.

Is this one of Norths great white hopes?
He's indigenous.. and yes he is.

Like a few have said on our board, his greatest asset is his lateral movement and rediculous evasive skills. Not for the immediate future anyway.

He's a very lucky lad that he wasn't killed or neither was the motorbike rider..

Fair enough.
Hopefully the leadership team lay down the law and set standards the youngsters and the rest of the playing group meet.

If there were ever time for this to come out its 3 days after another player gets done DUI.

Who hasnt accidently walked out in traffic whilst pissed. Most of the time they dont end up like this fortunately.

Really nothing to see here unless he broke team rules.

Hold on, walking home while intoxicated is stupid? Yeah ok, if he lived 40+km away, but if its a 10-20 minute walk, there is nothing stupid about that!

Plus, if ever there is a s**t law, it's 'being drunk in a public place'. EAD would you!!!

He got his ankle smashed crossing with a red light while walking home intoxicated, that is pretty stupid. A lot of decently intoxicated people tend to do stupid s**t walking home, not to mention the issues in regards to interacting with traffic/crossing streets etc.
The Brad Scott - Jarrad Waite commentary
Self reporting for breaking draft rules
Simpkin-gate

Been eventful
- Coach talks up own player in pre-season, shocker.
- Minor self-reporting breach over rules that most clubs have apparently stuffed up and after Collingwood were sprung, not much to see there.
- Simpkin-gate would imply a massive scandal or lying in a big way. Jy was upfront in admitting fault and setting a lengthy grog ban on himself.
