With Griffin, Cooney, Boyd, Picken and Higgins I wouldn't worry about clearance players either.

Strength wise, Simpson has nothing on Hahn. Only player he could replace is Eagleton and as I said, he isn't even best 22. He may be this week but that is because of injuries and nothing else.

Explain to me again why he wouldn't be in the team ahead of Moles who was named on a wing last week?

Stats

Probably one of the most improved players in the leaque the last two years. Runs both ways, very consistent (both form and injury wise) and can hurt an opposition team.

I rate him higher than Gibbs to be honest.

Or Gia for that matter?

Maybe not as good a kick as Gia but he's a lot tougher and less injury-prone

Besides the fact I didn't actually mention Moles in my last post, just because a player is named in a certain position does not mean the play there for an entire game, or even start in that position

I merely stated that the Dogs have an abundance of clearance players who are all more highly rated than Simpson, so there is no need for him in that position. This is allowing for Reid and Ward being injured as well.

I rate him great skills, hits targets and good finisher, *** knows what is defensive pressure is like but would love him in my side

You honestly don't think he would get a game for the dogs?

So you agree that Simpson would get a game ahead of Moles? That's my sole point.

No. I'm saying if you compare the stats of any 100+ game player against that of a 2 game player then chances are the 100+ game player will have better stats.

Does NOT mean he is a better player though.

In a rotation possibly, but not ahead of anyone you have mentioned. Giansiracusa is a possible future captain of the club and a forward for christ sake.

I would have Simpson on a wing at best, not in the forward line

Not every week.

Besides, the dogs have Mitch Wallis and Jnr Liberatore coming as F/S in this year's draft.. no need for Simpson.

Relevance? You could have the top 3 picks in next years draft, Simpson is a better player than any rookie.

Relevance of comparing Simpson to Hahn and other players from the forward line when he is an outside midfielder?

Quality footballer who would be one of the first picked at Carlton (yes I know thats not saying too much) but honestly anyone who thinks he's a dud is only saying that because of the team he plays for. If he was at Collingwood they would all be crying how Mike Sheehan hasn't put him in his top 50.

He'd get a game at Port every week, but I dont overly rate him. Hes a decent vanilla mid, not much more at this point.

Thank you!

That's all i've been saying. He is a decent player, not great but not terrible, would struggle to get a game in teams with good midfields. Nothing wrong with that. Blues fans who think he is one of the best mids in the league are kidding themselves.

The people in this thread saying he wouldnt get a game at other clubs are either stupid or trolling, possibly both. He isnt a star but he is well above average and would comfortably get a game at any team in the comp.

Good honest player, and I thought leadership suited him.

Simpson is a bit of a contradiction. Pacy, outside wingman who goes forward and kick goals occassionally, breaks open games at times yet to be honest he doesn't get much of a mention. He isn't elite, but is a considerable margin above the stock-standard midfielder so would probably get a game at quite a few clubs (Dogs, Cats are probably the exceptions)

pretty much this

i rate him as a decent b grader who probably doesnt get enough of it

good player in a bad side but would probably be a fringe player in a premiership team
