Very underrated player. His 2009 and 2010 form has been fantastic. Breaks lines, kicks goals and really stands up when we need it these days. Was our only good player verse the Bombers, never gave up. He'd get a game in any clubs 22.

That said, he isn't a "star" but an above average player. One of the better wingmen in the competition by far.

Often gets missed in the Judd, Murphy, Gibbs talk, but very important in our structure. Pacy wingman that has gone forward the last couple of weeks and done a pretty good job. Solid B grade footballer IMO.

Would help if he was coached by someone who understands defence is not just the job of the two tall blokes down back.

What is it with Collingwood supporters calling our midfielders unaccountable every time they get mentioned here?

Gibbs, Murphy, Judd now Simpson. It wouldn't be that unlike your mob, these boys actually have an ounce of talent and thus it's the opposition to has to shut them down, not the other way round?

Simpson has no problems defensively. Also is a very courageous player and very good overhead for a player his size. Fast and can break the lines. Kicks goals but can struggle with accuracy at times.

My major fault would be that he does tend to bomb it long on occasion but he would get a game in every club in the competition. You really think Geelong have 22 player better than somebody in Carlton's top 10?

When you're surrounded with quality, lesser players look better than they actually are. Look no further than West Coast and some of the quality of their premiership players. No doubt once Geelong and St Kilda drop away, their lesser players will be exposed for what they are.

Simpson has performed consistently well in a poor team and that speaks volumes for his ability as a footballer. He was one of the few players who gave a stuff in Pagan's last weeks at the footy club and busted his arse when we were continuously being beaten by 15+ goals on a weekly basis.
