it took him 5 months

She never said this.

Anyway, yes, it's perceived from her statement that she's preparing to run for 2028. Which would be terrible - not just for her own failures as a politician, but it would allow other dull centrists to claim outsider status that they don't deserve.

The premise seems to be she didn't have enough time to campaign, which kinda ignores that the longer the campaign went the more her polling declined.

From excerpts she seems to blame Biden (fair, but she could've done literally anything to distance herself from him) and in the newest one seems to say she wishes she'd picked Buttigieg (ignoring that Walz was the only person who was a President or Vice President nominee who had a positive approval rating at the end of 2024).

It's all just an attempt to rehabilitate herself so she can have another shot in 2028. It should be discarded - woefully bad politician who was found to be in well over her head at a critical time.

She didn't get a fair run at it coming in so late, though I don't think she would have made it through the primaries. Maybe some powerful Dems wanted her as the candidate and this was the only way they could get her in?

Whereas trump was a perfect candidate that showed no mental decline and the reporting was completely fair and unbiased.

don't think many would say biden hanging on for so long helped the dems. no matter who he leader was.

Plus the sad reality that Americans cannot bring themselves to elect a woman as president.

People can argue she was not an appealing leader but the fact is she had significantly less coverage by American media yet far more scrutiny (or really it was unfair criticism) than her opposition, Trump.

The media has normalised Trumps stupidity to the point where you have to be a ****ing flawless angel sent from the heavens to appear like a suitable candidate running against him.

This, its legit insane. Bloke does/says 5 things per month that would end any other candidacy in about 10 seconds flat, but it's always "oh thats just Trump".

Incredible built-in advantage.

Biden not dropping out early stopped the Dems from having a proper primary and picking a decent candiate.

Biden not dropping out early benefited Kamala as she didn't have anybody to compete with and minimised her time in the spotlight.

a lot of speculation there. it was clear biden was not up to the job for many months. whether harris would have won the nomination had it been a longer run-up, neither you or i would know. the opinions i've heard are that she would have. won it. either way, by eating into the preparation/strategic time, biden disadvantaged the dems both time-wise and by allowing the orange loony free rein to hammer them.

of course, there was more to the loss. the dems poor campaign is another.

Hypothetical but I reckon Whitmer, Newsom or Shapiro would have done better than Kamala in a primary. They would have been able to distance themselves from Biden, which is one of the big things that cost Harris.

the first two weren't serious contenders in my view. and shapiro would have been a disaster. buttegieg would have been good but his sexuality - sadly - meant he was never an option.

What nonsense, Hilary won the popular vote and ran a very mediocre campaign.
Hillary was also picked by the Dems instead of a candidate that many supporters of the party wanted and as a consequence didn't turn out to vote. Which is a weird thing the Dems do, but still a big chuck of the Dems didn't turn out because they wanted either Bernie or someone that wasn't Hillary.

So she did win the popular vote, but she still missed out on a lot of votes that may have been in electoral college states.

I disagree and think these views are self-defeating and lead to pretty illberal thinking ("I won't support this candidate because other people are bigoted" has the same net result as "I won't support this candidate because I am bigoted"). No doubt candidates who aren't straight white men are going to have difficulties that straight white men won't, but I don't think it's a disqualifying factor. Kamala lost because of Biden. Hillary lost because she had a quarter century of baggage at a time when people wanted a change. Obama won because he read the room and, if anything, made his ethnicity a benefit to him as a politician.

I think if Newsom had gone up against donny he would hae destroyed donny mentally with donny being so thinned skin

Buttigieg sounds good when he talks, but sadly once you dive into his record and history, he's an empty vessel of a candidate that will do terribly with the black vote and will be bought by every super pac and corporation out there.
