Buttigieg sounds good when he talks, but sadly once you dive into his record and history, he's an empty vessel of a candidate that will do terribly with the black vote and will be bought by every super pac and corporation out there.

I'm so clear on my recollection, but he had a bit of a scandal as mayor. I agree though he is a good spokesman, and didn't do a bad job as Transpo Head. Another cabinet post would suit or some time in Congress if he can. Needs more seasoning.

I disagree and think these views are self-defeating and lead to pretty illberal thinking ("I won't support this candidate because other people are bigoted" has the same net result as "I won't support this candidate because I am bigoted"). No doubt candidates who aren't straight white men are going to have difficulties that straight white men won't, but I don't think it's a disqualifying factor. Kamala lost because of Biden. Hillary lost because she had a quarter century of baggage at a time when people wanted a change. Obama won because he read the room and, if anything, made his ethnicity a benefit to him as a politician.

More accurately that the US would accept a Black president and would accept a woman president, but not a black woman president. Although there's a lot of overlap between those who won't accept either, one of the largest drops in voter groups between Biden and Harris was non-White men. They weren't voting against Harris because she wasn't white.

Whilst they won't come out (most of them) and obviously state this, they'd have to realise to maximise their chances in 2028 they need to pick a straight white guy as the candidate. Ideally of course, the US would elect the best person regardless, but they won't, so the Democrats have to either accept it, or run someone that'll be easy pickings for painting as not caring about 'ordinary' Americans and likely lose again.

Either way both are men very comfortable lying and misleading so any positive statistics a Dem who runs for President will present will be accused of "fake news" anyway.

yep, I expect to see a lot of cyber ninjas in every precinct where Trump or the Reds lose. A lot of voter intimidation, not just at the polling place; remember the Rs have been trying to gather voter data. They've been training their own polling volunteers, so odds on there will be some true believer nutcases doing shit there. And there will be a drone storm of AI on SM.
