In today's Monopoly Times Kane Cornes has picked his best ten Port players. I assume this is AFL era only.

Cornes' top ten are-

1. Warren Tredrea
2. Robbie Gray
3. Gavin Wanganeen
4. Chad Cornes
5. Peter Burgoyne
6. Travis Boak
7. Josh Carr
8. Michael Wilson
9. Roger James
10. Justin Westhoff

All good players but a couple of eyebrow raising names in there. Modesty obviously prevents Kane from including himself but he would be in many people's list as would Brendon Lade and Shaun Burgoyne.

Top 3 spot on. Chad Cornes, Peter Burgoyne and Michael Wilson should deffs be in anyones 4-10th area.

Agree about Junior Burger, surely a better player for us than James.

Roger James was pretty good. I would have Shaun in my top ten ahead of Westhoff or even Boaky. Travis has had a pretty good 2019 but he had some average seasons between 2015-18. Justin Westhoff has had has great moments but he has also had a few lengthy down periods.

Peter Burgoyne was OK but he was a bit of a turnover king and I think Shaun was the better player.

Josh Francou is another who deserves a mention.

The thing about Kornes' picks is he is probably selecting players from a different perspective to the rest of us as he played with the listed players and probably has inside knowledge. We, on the other hand only see the action from the boundary. That said you can only make judgements on what you see and I would have Bredan Lade and Shaun Burgoyne in our top ten.

Shaun Burgoyne is nudging fellow Hawthorn longevity master Michael Tuck as one of the most over rated players of all time.
I think he is like Boomer Harvey most of the time, but he has had some very important clearance heavy games.

I loved Wilbur but S. Burgoyne and Francou have got him covered.
Pickett wasn't only tough and intimidating but had speed and skill to burn. Plus there's a cheeky Norm Smith.

Roger James was incredible by hand and foot and also knew how to perform when it mattered. Definitely worthy.
Agree he was an absolute gun.

Pity the knee cruelled him, one of our greats

I’d have Peter B, Pickett and Francou in there for sure.

Loved Joshs hardness, I reckon he finished high up in a couple of brownlows.

I wouldn’t have westy anywhere near the top 10

Francou was third and second in the Brownlow in consecutive years pre injury.
