Obviously a very good draft for you guys, although thought Travaglia and Berry might be the two replacements for Rioli and Bolton but can see why you drafted the way you did. Farrell as a RFA would be a very good get for both our clubs.

Trainor can hopefully replace Rioli. Hotton will replace Bolton.

Trainor is a replacement for Vlastuin as the intercept tall defender in time.

Hotton plays half forward sure. Will he replace Bolton only time will tell and we wont really know that until 2026 coming off a ACL.

I.e was round 1 a blip on the radar or are they facing a tough year. If a tough year might get him out for team success reasons? Join the Pies, be part of the “regeneration” (can’t be a “rebuild” due to lack of picks - will be 1 top 30 pick across 2023-2025 drafts pending any trades or FA departures), aim for a flag.

Hewett, McGovern, Docherty, Newman, Silvagni all out of contract end of this year & would think all will sign either less money than they’ve been on OR a lesser percentage.

TDK will eat up some increase but I think there’s room on those 5 all losing money, Docherty & McGovern the big ones.

Oh just realised McGovern has already come off his initial 800k 5 year Carlton contract - not sure what he signed back on for but wouldn’t have been a heap. Maybe 500k at a guess?

Nope. We had no list spots left to make the moves we did in the draft.

I can see us making a play for him if he's keen on heading back to VIC. Practically all our back line is OOC in the next 2 years other than Weitering and he'd be an instant upgrade.
