Kane Lucas???

also cuts down strain on hip flexor and IT bands doesn't it?
If it's your natural running style you can be less prone to those sort of injuries. Changing your style can be time consuming, detrimental to performance and putting yourself out your natural technique then running flat chat in a game can increase the chances of injury. He's better off getting fitter and stronger and as you say, focusing on winning the pill.

Kane may be suffering the curse of changing his number. Should have stuck with his old one or taken the number 7 that is currently vacant. Ratts would have loved seeing 7 on the park.
The curse of being our sub is also starting to gain momentum.

gotta try to work out this season some way and I am blaming voodoo
Ellard didn't change and has has been OK
choice-injury, hanging out with Hoops too much, lover's tiff with Ratts, voodoo

I am going with the dark arts

his disposal, speed, work rate...what was awful?
That and more. Looks to be really lacking desire at the moment and can't get amongst it. I'll bring up his stats for you.

Kane Lucas - 8 disposals, 5 kicks, 3 handballs, 3 marks, 2 tackles.

playing mostly where? Did he stay on the ground the majority of the time?
Was given plenty of time on the field. From memory, he was running around the flanks.

On TAC Future Stars, they mentioned his connection to Sydney and whether he had a desire to be drafted there and he replied something like this 'I'm not there yet, oh whoops, I didn't mean it like that'.

Did anyone else see it?

Inside the boundary line or outside it. :o

What could we expect if he has gone to GWS?
First rounder for a first rounder?

Take it and run. As much as I hoped he would be our next Scotland, I'm not sure he can do it. A first rounder for Kane would give us bigger bargaining power when it comes to hopefully stealing a key forward. Especially if we do have to give up a 1st rounder for Buckley.

Terrible show....unwatchable

Can we trade him to Adelaide for Talia, who certainly looks a player. We need a good tall....lol!

Often, not always young players can struggle in the 2nd year more than their first. He'll be a good player. But where would we fit him in even in form in the shorter term?

No question he has been the most disappointing player on our list this year, he promised so much last year, it would be interesting to know if he is happy at carlton or whether there is some underlying reason for his form to completely drop off, his form for the Bullants has been ordinary.

Be interested if he is seeking a return home to WA or has GWS been in his ear some time ago hence his form drop off.

Yeah, pretty ordinary. I only watched to see Lucas and some of his responses were quite strange but then at the end I think he said he was grateful to Carlton for drafting him and sounded happy.

There has to be more to this, I'm thinking GWS TBH. We'd get something valuable, he was a first rounder and the compensation system works with that.

Yeah i saw it. He said something like: ohh that sounded bad. I am very thankful for carlton. then goes on to mention about how he likes being at a powerhouse club , one of the big 4 in melbourne. He was contacted by port, and the clubs around his pick , 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 ? around there from memory, and that he is really thankful that carlton picked him up.

He knows that he has been struggling with injury, and he is hoping to get his form back and string games together.
I personally think he lost confidence in his body after the two hamstrings injuries, and has struggled to get it back. He is getting it back though, in parts. He shows why we picked him, yes they are glimpses, but he's is coming good. I hope we keep him.
He also mentioned something about how he's watched the guys like scotland (cant remember who else he mentioned) to see how they play.

I think he's a keeper. Has been emergency for the past 3 weeks they said?, didnt think he was emergency this week.
He has been emergency recently, which must mean he is doing something right.
The club may have told him to just find confidence in his body and the way he plays again. Get some continuity and don't stress about getting back into the seniors straight away. Focus on the health and well-being first.

The Sydney comment was a strange one, I don't know quite how to interpret it. Distinctly said 'I'm not there yet'.

Maybe I'm just reading too much into it but couple that statement with how he has played this year and it's easy to come to the conclusion that he may be with GWS next year.
