wouldnt lucas for a mitch brown be more suitable?
Would rather keep lucas than trade him for stevens in a direct swap. i think stevens may ask for a trade considering he cant break into it. so maybe the pick we get for bower most likly 2nd round could do it?

Dunno.....has Koby improved his kicking and decision making?
Has Lucas improved his durability?
I very much doubt that Carlton would go for that trade (Lucas for Koby). Simply put, Carlton had the chance to recruit Koby or Lucas in 2009 and decided to go with Lucas. He has shown enough signs to suggest he will be a damn good player, and Steven's hasn't shown enough to suggest he would be better.
IF Lucas is determined to leave for WA then it might be an option, but Carlton won't do the trade for the sake of trading. As mentioned above, Lucas has had a down year due to injuries, and a need to change his running style which changes the way he plays, but he would be bookmarked as a ready made replacement for Scotland in a year or two (and no, I am not saying he wont play AFL football until Scotland retires, but once he does a permanent spot in the 22 will open up for him)

Jake Melksham board.
Gee what a surprise. You're really hurting from last week aren't you?
Grab a tissue box son.
Well he played 21 games of football this year - how about Lucas?
And seriously Bower for Stevens?
Would you accept Brett Jones for Lucas?

wow, what a surprise the Carlton supporters have taken it personally. That's my opinion. Lucas has shown jack shit. He shows no trait that is outstanding. Not everyone turns out to be a star, just the facts.
As for comparing him to Melksham, please... Melksham has shown an infinite amount more than Lucas.
The criticism is spot on. A soft outside footballer with ordinary footskills; so ordinary in fact that Carazzo can keep him out of the carlton team.

Comparing Brett Jones to Bower has made it difficult to give your opinions much credibility
Lucas was showing quite a lot in his first year before his injury and if my memory serves me well, quite a bit more than Melksham, until his injury.
Lucas's first half of this year was terrible even at VFL level, but he slowly got back to the form he showed the year prior.
His injury has basically knocked his movement out of whack.
Let's judge him on a full, injury free season, to be fair.
Quality player.
You are making out Stevens is a gun player, Bower like Stevens is a pick 20-25 in their draft years, Bower has proven he is a good player, if he can get his body sound he has much to offer at Carlton or any other club for the next five years, Stevens has yet to prove much at all at senior level .
I have no issues with giving him time. He may turn into a serviceable player, but I don't see star in him.
I could be wrong though.
Agreed - one is a proven premiership defender, the other is nearly 24 and has struggled to show he is any more than an undersized battler.
Just slow down and think.......you proposed an analagous trade, for a washed up WAFL player !!!!
As opposed to a low grade undersized battler who has shown nought more than mediocre over 6 years.
The point was to highlight how ridiculous the first trade was by providing an equally ridiculous alternative
Which you clearly failed.
Bower clears his injury concerns: You're wrong.
Bower's issues continue: You're right.
