I'm really impressed with Kane tenace, the last couple of weeks his. His shown that he can use the ball well and his starting taking players on using his pace out of the backline. I've always dislike Tenace but his really showing potential to becoame a great rebound defender. Thoughts?

Liked his run yesterday, but does seem to float his kicks a bit too much. If he can start to drill the ball to the leading player he could be just what the side needs. :thumbsu:

Best game for the club I've seen him play.

Covering more ground, making better decisions, and kicking better (although all three still stand to improve).

Always liked his pace, and using him to set up out of defence is working well. Has a big problem with long kicks to targets, but his shorter kicks generally set up the next possession well. He'll get better and better the more he plays (obviosuly).

I said on another thread that he looked good for all but the last quarter. A few costly turnovers due to poor disposal, however maybe he was running out of steam.

Otherwise I liked his and Wojak's game, they gave us speed at the back of the pack, where they can clear a tackle and run away. Gives us a lot in our ability to take on the flood by getting the ball up the ground quicker and opposition players have to come at them instead of zoning off.

He will be better for it with another game under his belt.

He is finally getting the opportunity that he deserves. It is no coincidence that he is now improving each week and will ultimately be part of our midfield brigade. One of the problems we had last year was that with Ling, Bartel, Kelly and Corey we were too one paced. Tenace, with G.Ablett increasingly being used in the middle with Chapman has now added much needed speed to this group.

Tenace needs to be persisted with. Prismall is another, but is suffering from lack of opportunity at this stage with the great injury run (or lack thereof) so far (touch wood it continues). You would think he may come in relatively soon for Selwood when/if he begins to tire.

Kane Tenace still needs to get better if he is to be ahead of selwood, prissmall, stokes,& little monty yes he kicking can be bad at times

Well, given he plays a different role to all those forementioned players, I don't see why he 'needs to be ahead of them'.

Highlighted a little error :), and I agree with GeeCat that he plays different to the others anyways.

He didnt stand out to me at the game or the replay today. I dont remember him really using his pace well like Wojinski does, and his a bit slow to make decisions.

Honestly i would just trade him next year, give someone else a go.

I assume lil monty is Shannon Byrnes.....Monty sr is mr Byrnes from the Simpsons

The problem is that Byrnes can only kick off his left foot. He is just a one trick pony really.

As a small forward he is a long way behind both Stokes and Varcoe, and there is no spot in the midfield for him unless we get alot of injuries.
Trade bait I'm afraid!

he is also awful in front of goal...it was almost hilarious listening to the VFL commentators a couple weeks back talking about how good a converter he is in front of goals.

Personally a big fan of tenace - still young and hopefully will be a very good player. Not the most confident player, but will improve with experience i think.
And finding a lot of the ball too on the weekend - 27 or 28 touches, and herald sun time on ground less than 70% of game time.
I think he ill keep on improving this year, and skill errors will decrease with time. Just want him to burn others off more often

In my opinion he need some regular games...how often in his short career has he played more than 5 games in a row? If he gets a regular spot, where he can settle in and feel more comfortable, then we will be able to pass judgement. It cant be easy coming in and out of the side all of the time, just look at Ted Richards since he went to Sydney and got regular games, instead of being in and out at Essendon.
