The biggest key of all though as we all know.........will be the games plan/s and reaction time of the coach when things aren't going our way.

Agree.
We do have a chance to have a more balanced midfield now that the gameplan must (hope) be altered with no Stevens.

On another note, got my tickets early for next week's game. Last time we were seated not too far back and got fairly wet. (Needless to say, the kids loved it.)
This time ..............way back. Now watch it not rain at all. :D

Here's another good Choco quote from the yearbook (extra juicy bits underlined)

It has been well documented that we have had a greater focus on leadership at the club during the off-season. One of the conclusions we came to at the end of last season was that perhaps the coaching group, and me in particular, may have dominated the decision-making process too much

As a coaching group, we believe it is critical that the players are as much the decision makers as we are, that they rely on their intuition and have confidence in their decision making, so that when it gets tough it is not the players reliant on the coaches for the answers, rather that we are working together. We know we have players with the leadership skills and a close group that can work together, so we are looking to develop this area of our club.

Hopefully this isn't all blather.

Its probably why his most notable job was on Judd - takes one to know/read one.

I hope it is not pre-season Choco-talk again, but Gold pass?
Mini-me-Mark (Salopeck) has got that, but not too many will argue with that at this stage.
Sure, but I think Dom is more likely to use it in the sense of getting games despite possible unamazing performances.

That sounds good to me........just a matter of actually seeing it happen.

A player that goes in and gets the footy is what we want Kane to be. This is an opportunity for him to take his game up another level and really make his career as a footballer. It's all in his hands.

Well I have watched/listened to pretty much all of the first 3 quarters of the Geelong game, and haven't even =seen= Salopek. Could it be he didn't come on until the last quarter?

No, I was watching most of it, and I know what he looks like. If he starred in the middle, it must have been in the last quarter. I'll watch it tonight.

The game I am thinking of is when he repeatedly goes in for extra efforts in one passage of play near the HFF.
That's when he went from being another high draft pick to a potential star in my mind.
St Kilda or Freo game?

Ever since we palmed off AUSTAR because of the kids it has been much more peaceful around the house, but I have not watched any replays at all. :(
Must start recording more games.

Well, being in Tokyo, my only source of match footage is the AFL.com video streams. But I tells ya, it's a pretty decent service. Admittedly I have a very high speed connection, but I can watch every match by every club for the last 2 years, including all the finals, wizzers etc. Just renewed my AFL.com membership last week -lovin it :)

Anyway I have just finished watching the Freo game, and it was an interesting one. Tredders kicked a bag of seven...could easily have been eight or nine but Polak and Pavlich were double teaming him at the end - no one could handle him on their own.

The aboriginal boys had a field day, with probably Wangas having the best of it.

Salopek and Cassisi did both have a small amount of game time, Sallo perhaps playing about a quarter. He did indeed as mentioned show some class in the middle. A touch of a young Buckley about him, the lad. Cassisi had some moments too. I am now drooling in anticipation of seeing them both get some more game time. Let's hope they fulfill all our hopes.

Thats the one upside of us not drafting Pavlich when we had the chance - he doesn't make us pay when we play Freo at all.

Year and a half so far, probably another 2 or 3.
Long way away for a job, but would be a great experience.

We have a young japanese lad in Darwin playing footy.
I think he got an AFL sponsorship or something for a year, and is currently up here.
Going by a newspaper report this is his last stop before going back home I think.
Now that's different.

It's not just a job, I am engaged to a Japanese girl.

Yeah, there are some AFL teams around Tokyo too.
But it's not quite the same as watchin' the Power ;)
