Patrick Mahomes glad Andy Reid gives players the freedom to improvise​

Much has been made of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes setting up the game-tying field goal in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs with a decision in the moment that wasn’t actually the play that had been called. Mahomes said Chiefs coach Andy Reid encourages players to do that.

“There’s a lot of that during the game,” Mahomes said. “Everybody has their input. I think that’s what makes us such a great team, a great offense, is we have communication throughout the game. Then we go out there and execute because Coach Reid gives us that freedom.”

Mahomes said the play calling isn’t always as on-the-fly as Mahomes screaming, “Do it Kelce!” at the line of scrimmage to tell Kelce to run a route he had said on the sideline he thought would be open. More often, it’s about the players looking at their tablets while the defense is on the field to see what was working and what wasn’t on the previous drive, and preparing for the next drive accordingly.

Of course, it’s easy for Reid to give the players freedom when he has players as good as Mahomes and Kelce he can count on to execute.
 

Report: Eric Bieniemy, Andy Reid to meet soon about Bieniemy’s future with Chiefs​

The 2021 season was the final one of Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s contract and it’s unclear if he will be back with the team for another run in 2022.

Clarity about how things will play out will reportedly be coming soon. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Bieniemy is expected to meet with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid soon to discuss whether they will continue working together.

Bieniemy has been on Reid’s staff since 2013. He spent his first five seasons as the team’s running backs coach and the last four seasons as the offensive coordinator.

Per the report, Bieniemy could coach in college or take a year off if he does not remain with the Chiefs.

If Bieniemy does not return, the team won’t be able to turn to the likeliest in-house replacement from this season’s staff. Quarterbacks coach Mike Kafka signed on to become the Giants offensive coordinator after Brian Daboll was hired as that team’s head coach.

Be best for him to go elsewhere, would give himself a better chance at a head coaching shot.
League has spoken they don't rate what he is currently doing.

If Chiefs dont re-sign him about only good jobs left are college jobs. But you are right, he needs to separate from Reid and show he can do it alone and get a NFL hc job next cycle

I'm willing to put a substantial amount of money on that story being bullshit.

They report on alleged conversation over the headsets. Mahomes was apparantly involved, he doesn't have a mic.

Patrick Mahomes Tells Fiancé Brittany Matthews “No More Resting Bitch Face” While At Basketball Game​

Patrick Mahomes is enjoying his offseason, taking some time to attend his alma mater, basketball game Wednesday night in Lubbock.

The Chiefs QB is being celebrated on social media for something he did during the game in regard to his controversial fiancé Brittany Matthews, who was at his side.

Mahomes was caught saying something to Matthews, which she then transcribed to her friend as “Patrick just told me no more resting bitch face,” and then proceeded to following it up with a few faces mocking how she feels Patrick should have her look.

The clip has of course since gone viral and has been poked fun at by social media as social media does.

She looks like the type of girl who was pretty when she was in her earlier teens but is getting uglier every year since reaching adulthood. ... very Karen-ish face, those eyes, those bug eyes are scary. She is a weird looking unit.

She seems like she'd be a freak in the bedroom. Crazy passionate, hard worker. Why the appeal for Patrick and hasn't dumped her. Maybe he realizes she isn't marriage material, but in his prime, still 5 years away from tying knots, he'll keep it going till then.

She seems like the type who will crazy stalk him if they do breakup. End up on drugs or arrested on multiple DUI's, can see the mugshots now.

Yep, that too. She'll * his brains out like no one has ever ****ed before. Then she'll crazy stalk him, trash his house, car, etc, and get arrested after he breaks up with her.
