Karma is obviously nonsense

Luck is a real thing, anyone who has ever won the lottery has won it through luck just be definition. When you start labelling objects or people as lucky though like there is some sort divine force making them more or less likely to have 'luck' then you are back into the mumbo jumbo nonsense

I'm not spiritual, religious or superstitious in any way shape or form. I don't even believe in chiropractors and osteopaths.

But I feel affected by karma, even if it's just through my own sub-conscious.

Well and the fact that I did shitty things as a young teenager (stealing from shops etc) that was returned to me in the form of a number of incidents done to my car over the course of 2 or 3 years (keyed, back window smashed twice, egged a number of times, hit in a car park with no note left)

Or maybe my first car just cursed. Or maybe I just pissed off the wrong person.

Either way I always felt like the abuse my first car copped from others was a bit of payback for my turd-ish ways as a teenager

Yeah it's mainly about having good habits and a positive attitude. But they are skills you can learn and become more 'lucky'. For example, lucky people tend to have a lot of personal contacts. That means they hear of job opportunities, their contacts can recommend a good tradie, they'll get a ticket for the Grand Final etc. You can improve your contact network and not in a fake, contrived way. Go out of your way to have a chat with someone at work you think might be interesting but you haven't spoken to before, chat to randoms like people serving you or the person cutting your hair, make an effort to keep in touch with people.

A positive attitude is very important. I once went to a seminar by an educational consultant. He reckoned he could make a good prediction of the future life success of primary school kids by how much they smiled.

Agreed.

Karma is a myth. Luck isnt.
Thats why so many shit people succeed and good people fail and why some dumb asses get lucky and succeed and smart people get unlucky and fail.

I think everyone in this thread should actually look up Karma and the meaning behind it. It's lost on everyone who has posted in this thread.
How so?

Karma means action, work or deed; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect). Good intent and good deed contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad intent and bad deed contribute to bad karma and future suffering.

Please expand on your higher understanding of this concept that all of us plebs have so badly misunderstood.

The main idea behind Karma is from Hindu and Buddhist beliefs that past lives affect future lives. Not so much i robbed a car when i was 17 so now its karma that someone else stole mine when im 30

But whatever its all crap and words get redefined by how people use them all the time

Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म; IPA: [ˈkərmə] ( listen); Pali: kamma) means action, work or deed; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect).

I think most posters in here understand Karma as what is essentially cause and effect.

You must have another definition though, what are people missing
?

Try: "You reap what you sow."....Might sink in better.:thumbsu:

Statistically some people will be more lucky than others, no doubt.

But I also believe that people who seem often to be lucky are just well prepared, hard working and keep trying. When their lucky day arrives they are in a much better position to get the most out of it than others who idly plod along.

I believe in karma definitely. Sometimes it takes years for people to get their karma . Good or bad.

In my experience the more positive a person is the more positive their life will be.

Luck though I think is more random. But I usually find more positive things happen to me when I'm either feeling happy or positive or truly just living life with no expectations and then bam something good happens.

I don't have conclusive proof either way. But, wouldn't it be better for your own concience if you focussed on good karma?

Luck is luck... how many can control their own luck? Better off not relying on it too much

I think luck is a matter of your perspective and outlook on life/yourself/the world etc - people thankful for what they have feel lucky, the people who have a different point of view but the exact same life don't feel lucky. Its subjective.

Karma is a direct result of how you treat people, they bring it back to you

President Trump in a bit under 18 hours is one of the all-time great illustrations of how karma is complete and utter bullshit. Man acts like a ****head his entire life and entire campaign and look how it turned out.

Yes cause had Hillary got in all would be right in the world.

Politicians and Karma should never be in the same discussion.
