Think what you like about Libba, but no-one deserves to have something of sentimental value sold, and then carved up during divorce proceedings.

Unless it's an obnoxious 2 year old of course.

Whatever - u guys r acting like idiots.

The guys an ass -- he deserves what he gets -- couldn't give a "Ratts".

I'm sure most Carlton supporters are thrilled!

Hey Thylacine if you love Libba so much...why don't you marry him? :)

I don't really. Didn't like his style of play either but I suppose you have to grudgingly respect his determination to succeed. You gotta have balls when you are 168cms and he certainly did.

Aside from opposition supporters, deluded and deserving Carlton supporters and suicide bombers, I endeavour to keep opinions as forthright but balanced as I can.

More than likely we have all experienced relationship break-up. It's ____ing awful even when carried out with dignity let alone the acrimony reported here.

As for marrying Libba I think our union would fall down in areas of ballroom dancing (height issues), hobbies (not interested in GR wrestling) and the bedroom (hirsuteness issues).

Was Tony getting "vibes" that his marriage wasnt working out? Maybe they hadnt made love since the 97 prelim or somethin...

Sad news for the bloke. Love him or hate him you wouldn't wish divorce or death against even your best enemy. C'mon some of you need to grow up. I'm no big Libba fan but I'm not going to say he deserves this!

whatever he has done in life karma is paying him back. doesnt matter if he deserved it or not. the fact is karma wants him and is getting him for his past mistakes.

I hated Libba as a player, was not happy when he came to us as a coach and am super miffed at his story on tanking. However no heartless wench could possibly ask someone to sell their Brownlow that they earnt! That is dammed low. I don't care if he has to sweep up the rubbish after Dogs training at Whitten Oval to earn a few extra bucks decency has to prevail
Answer-lead balancing for both of them!

Simply by common law, she cant force him to sell anything obtained before the marriage unless they have a pre-nul which says that all property obtained prior to the marriage is to be considered common property for the use of both parties.

In which case, he could retaliate by selecting something of hers that is worth a lot of money that she owned before the marriage that has a lot of sentimental value to her and force her to sell it to go into the education fund for their kids...

Women in Australia, UK and America have this notion of marrying someone famous or wealthy and then if things go back, take them for half of everything that the guy has.

although I despise Libba for what he done in re: to his comments on the footy show about Carlton Tanking, NO MAN deserves to be taken for everything they have got.

Believe me, I have been through one divorce & only walked out with the clothes on my back & my kids beds & clothing & oh yeah, I took a tv as there was 2 of those & a fridge as there was 2 of those as well.
Other than that, I re-built from ground up.

I have now re-married to a wonderful man, He has a good Job (but then I have a fulltime job as well) & I keep on telling him that if anything ever happened to us where we got a divorce, I would want no money from his superannuation (that belongs to him & he has worked a long time for that & hard for that as well) BUT I will take whatever we have 2 of......
what's his is his

I am sick & tired of these females that take guys for what they are worth...she prob only married him for the notoritity & the money & now that's gone she doesn't know what to do, but Libba's ex makes it sound like she is doing it for the kids education......yeah right lady!.......I sympathise for you men who get taken for a ride......

hell of a story true blue
but i guess libbas the one gettin tanked now

Despite the fact I was pretty pissed off at his lame attempt for 5 minutes of media fame with the Carlton tanked crap with Hutchy, I wouldnt wish this on anyone (even a Collingwood player).

The laws have changed in the last 10 years, but I know for a fact, that I got taken to the cleaners, inherited all debt and the house sold for 40K less than what it was worth....to add in not seeing your daughter for three years...So how would you feel????

So laugh it up all those that posted negitive comments - hopefully, you never have to go down the same road.

I don't like the guy,but that medal is a personal sentimental thing that should not be taken away from him. If it doesn't mean anything to him and he sold it to cash on it,fair enough.

I think it's wrong people being bitter and trying to take everything that they have especially when it's to be mean to them,it's not like that person is struggling to live.

The courts need to get the system fair. The people laughing at him, will one day possible be on the same shoes and i know a guy who killed himself after his divorce and he didn't cheat on her or anything like that.
