Has Kasey Green played any AFL games with the Eagles this year or even been considered as an emergency? From newspaper reports, he's been doing some good things with East Fremantle (nothing outstanding) but can't break into our senior side. With our massive list of injuries this year, surely Judgey would of given him a go if he see's him as part of the clubs future. I think his days are numbered and will follow the steps of Jaxon Crabb, Scott Bennett, Neil Marshall and other WAFL players who could never crack it at the club.

I hope this doesnt happen as i saw him in a few games last year and i thought he was really good. He is the only youngster barring of course Kerr and to a lesser extent Cox and Gaspar that i thought really could make a difference in the future of our club.

Haynes and Munro get chance after chance, how about giving Humm and Green a go instead. Humm has played but you wouldnt have noticed with the amount of time he gets on the field.

Anyway i hope Green gets a chance in the remaining games to at least prove to the selectors not to let him go at seasons end. It would be unfair not to give him a chance to impress.

Jod I hope your right that he gets a fair-go! The good thing about Green was that he was able to kick goals and was a very quick player.

I certainly hope Kasey Green gets a fair go (and indeed all players), but I'm not sure about him. We went to Sydney last year or the year before and I think it was his debut. He kicked a goal and played ok, but the Eagles supporters seemed to overstate how good he was in the games he played, IMHO. He didn't do a great deal in the East Freo game I saw this year either. But now is the time to see what he can do - given our injury list, I can only assume that Judgey doesn't rate him.

And he's not that young either you know - relatively speaking. Kerr and Humm, both of whom I like greatly, are very young, but Green's been there for a couple of years and came off the rookie list then.

Cox and Gaspar to me will be at least as successful as Daniel Kerr in AFL in the future, (subject to injuries of course). There would have to be a big danger of burnout to Kerr given his age, size and style and I think he may get rested soon.

I'd like to see Green and Antonowitz play but also Haynes. I have seen a lot of him for West Perth but not for Eagles. How many games has he played this year? I know Hunter played a few and did well.

Haynes and Hunter have played quite well for their respective WAFL clubs but KJ won't give them a go? Maybe he will give em a go later on this season when Kerr and a couple of others youngsters get their break?

ken isnt stupid
this year we will be bad, he wont put players into the team that will play good enough to loose our concesionary pick, putting a lot of youngsters that try hard like buszan and haynes/hunter/humm/green would make the team unpredictable and maybe win too many games for kens liking
also if we finish 2nd last this year, and next year 6-7 kids begin to play like stars, then the eagles supporters will be shouting keep ken, if we improve this year, and not much more the next.....
they wont be as happy

you may be right but we went on a loosing streak at the end of last season and continued it into this season despite hopes for more. Port started last sason badly finished well and started this season very strongly. I think there is a lot to be said about breeding some confidence and winning ethos into the youngsters this season.

There is a lot of talent coming out of WA this year:

Polack
Armstrong (AA)
Sampi
Lynch (AA)
Glancy (AA)

and there were a few more good players in the under 18 comp. I would hate to see them going interstate and with Freo and WC taking the first 4 we have an oppurtunity of drafting WA's best talent.

I also think Kerr should be rested down the stretch and give Humm more of a run or Green a go. Kerr could burn out the amount of footy he is playing and with such high hopes pinned on him.

Green i hope gets to have a run late this year just to see whether he is worth keeping. I see it happen all the time in the AFL. A team lets a youngster go who hasnt been given a fair go at a club then someone else picks him up and he becomes really good. Then you wonder why the hell your club didnt keep him.

I would like to see Green and Haynes, Humm and Antonowicz get a go. They will be good players I reckon. For the first time in a while there is competition for spots on the Team, with so many young guys pushing for selection. Good to see. I think we have a good mix of youth and experience to teach the young guys how to play, even though we aren't winning!
