Someone who's a cry baby and who looks to blame everyone else for their own predicaments has no place in our Test side. Stuff him.
I was happy when Katich was brought back into the side and I'm glad he got to end his career with the record he deserved, but bringing him back would obviously cause more harm than good and it's not worth it.
Australia is a happy team right now and we're bringing talented young guys in, I don't see why we'd take a backwards step now especially when it would also damage team harmony.

He should never come back but never should have got dropped. I think his comments were fair and reasonable and he shall forever be held in high regard by me for the way he dealt with Clarke that day at the SCG.
IMHO, he should have been dropped the moment he put his hands around the throat of a fellow player. If I pulled that stunt at work, I'd have been sacked on the spot.
Why? What specifically happened that day that justified his response?

katich really is the perennial sapegoat. its not a backflip if they reselect him because it was the old selection panel that dropped him. i say get him straight back in, and all will be forgotten when he starts scoring runs like we all know he will.

Unfortunately there is no coming back because he would be by far the best option to work with Hughes, Warner or any other young opener to get them established.
I think he would be a very good coach for Australia in the future if he wants to be.

His recent behaviour show why he was dropped, he is just another player who couldn't face the fact that the game had now past him by and it was time to retire gracefully.
So now that you have established that he should be sacked for his actions who can tell me authoratively and accurately, no reported or heresay but actual fact, what was said or done before the hands on throat action?

Im a katich fan but im also sick of the katich vs clarke thing.
Katich is gone and he's never coming back, clarke is skipper he's made a solid enough start so i hope katich can just leave it alone now.
He's made his point and we all know what camp we sit in on the issue but if he keeps on whinging about it he's going to lose a lot of supporters, he's not the first bloke to lose his test career because he and the skipper didn't get on and he certainly won't be the last.
Thing that does bugs me is when people say katich was sacked to help the team rebuild which is rubbish, he was sacked because the skipper can't stomach him, the only other rebuilding was forced on us through injuries not some grand plan to rebuild by CA.
Not an attack on clarke , it's just annoying when a firing for personal reasons gets used as mileage by an impotent and inept cricket board who were fiddling while Rome burned.

clarke has advocated keeping the likes of haddin and johnson in the team. runs the team more like a boys club than a cricket team
Please tell me what Clarke (or any player for that matter) could have possibly said that justified Katich trying to strangle him?
Like I said... in just about any other workplace in Australia, Katich would have been sacked on the spot.
