When Cogs went in on the hawks Brown i think it was, and was just quite easily dealt with was it not Pettifer who was the first one to step in and give some push and shove back? I may be wrong.

You are correct.

There is no comparison to houlihan. Houlihan would have kicked 3 goals in the last quarter when we were down by 15 goals. Not that he kicked 3 goals more than a couple of times in his whole career.

He never did it once when the game was there to be won.

Just on Houlihan he played a very similar game that Pettifer did for us on the weekend agaisnt St.Kilda at the Telstra Dome in 2003.

He was the match winner there for us:

And also, he did kick more than three goals quite a few times in his career (7 times).

Pettifer was good on the weekend and was ok the first week. But he will have to play like he did on the weekend consistently if he wants to escape the tag of being Houlihanesque.

LMAOOOOO Johnovsky,Im sure he wouldn't want that tag.

LMAOOO@Not totally dismissing success for Pettifer just yet.

I hope he becomes a solid week-in week-out contributor. We need all the contributors we can get.

When was the last time we had a forward (other than Richo) that you could safely slot in for a couple of goals each week?

If u combine Naish and Daffony u would be looking at the last time.

We also had guys I called forwards on wheels.
Guys like Jurica and Edwards would kick a few one week and go missing for the season.

ottens in '01 was pretty consistent but turned out to be a big let down in the end. hopefully pettifer, brown and simmo become regular goal kickers. dont think we have ever had six players kicking more than 20 goals in a year, at least not since we were a powerhouse.
