Kayne Pettifer

Was good today and was ok last week. Will only ever be a bit-part player but it is encouraging to see him contribute consistently.

18 touches, 8 inside 50's and 2 goals. You cannot possibly expect any better from someone playing in starvation corner.

IMV, the one reason why we won today was because of our better finishing around goal - 16.7 (+2 OFF) is pretty good considering how blustery and drizzly it was - and one of the key players in this was Pettifer.

He is a quality user of the ball and helped set up a win today.

Had a good game.

18 touches
8 marks
2 goals.

Didnt get much pill last week but did manage 3 goals.

great too see, because he always had potential, but he just didn't go in or run hard enough. If he keeps playing confident footy, he could be like a mature age recruit like Tuck.

Did some pretty soft things early, but he came good when it mattered most
Still is a weak little bastid, but hopefully this could be a career turning point

This player should have been delisted. The Gods by accident have smiled on him lasting this long.

But in saying that, he is now finally showing some proper form. I hope he proves most of the supporters wrong, including me.

The thing I have noticed different with him this year is that he is more composed, or relaxed on the field and reading the play better to offer a proper option. We need a 3rd string forward kicking 2-3 goals a week.

I hope he keeps the good work up. It might be a blessing in disguise. Time will tell.

STOP Talking sense. You have a bad habit of talking sense, Please change.lol

Said this on another thread but I'll repeat it here. I've said all along he is too talented to give up on too quickly. Hasn't proven anything yet but 5 goals from 2 games is a good start. Interesting to hear Wallace after the game call him our money man because he uses the ball so well. Could turn into a Nick Davis type for us - soft as butter but hurts the opposition nearly every time he gets it.

Soft and inconsistent. But has the talent to kick two match winning goals.

I'm not optimistic about him long-term but I'll reserve my judgement till season end.

Jyst nice for him to have a moment in the AFL. He copped a fair bit from fans near me in the last quarter when he was beaten in a 1 on 1, but good on him for slotting the 2 that mattered.

Positive that's the only time I've ever been out of my seat an an afl game because Pettifer's done something GOOD.

Cheers

I kind of agree with you however like you i have hated him like many others. last week he kicked 3 goals at the time i felt nothing of it big deal. However a week later he has had the ball 18 times and 2 goals which come when the game was there to be won. I Hurts me to say That yes he has done alright in the first 2 weeks of the home and away season as well as the preseason. Kayne If you can come out the next 2 weeks and play like you have to date well done And i will soon change how I feel about you as a player if I have not done so already.

Well done.

Good effort from Kayne 'Clutch' Pettifer to be the hero with two late goals, even if one he got a bit lucky from the turnover.
18 touches is also a fair effort after spending time on the bench and playing HF/FP.

I've never had any time for him in th past, but credit where credit's due. That was his best game played so far, turned it on when it was needed. Happy to wear egg on my face to see him improve and be a useful player for us. Time will tell though.

he has good quality possessions but for the nuggety size player he is, he seems to get outmarked by weeds a lot of the time. Dont think he has learnt how to use his body yet. Once he harnesses his strength (he must have some given his build), he will become a lot better

Kayne was another victim of Spudleys coaching.

He never played any of his junior football in the half back line and yet spud played him there consistently off the bench.

Its like trying to turn a long distance runner into a sprinter.

Wallace recognised Kaynes strengths and is giving him a decent opportunity.

Kayne has shown all the signs of being a very good player for us. He is a beautiful kick of the football and if he continues to get it, then he can and will be a very damaging player.

Go Pettifer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ditto, i hated him too i thought he was soft but maybe the extra game time that he's getting on the field the confidence is starting to show. i hope he can keep it up we need a good goldsneek.

He was always going to be a better player under a better coach.

There's plenty to bag ahead of him. He's got more use than Ray Hall to begin with.
