We (Nagambie)
For those interested in B&F results, Anthony Haysom took out the Seniors award at Nagambie followed by Scott Paulke, and Josh Sanderson rounded out the top three.

Please dont tell me that Nagambie don't include finals games in their B & F count. IMO the finals are nearly worth double votes. Nothing against the winners, but I am amazed that they don't include the biggest games of the year. I supose poor ol neon leon would never get near it at the carringbush if that was the case:D:D:D.

Interested to hear anyone elses thoughts on club B & F's not including finals games.:thumbsu: Talking to a couple of mates the other day and one suggested instead of the traditional 3 cards of 3,2 & 1, maybe they could expand it to 3 cards of 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1. I thought it wasn't a bad idea.

Yeh, most clubs I've been at have included finals in the B&F, and most have either 3, or 5 lots, of 5,4,3,2,1.. Not really sure what the most accurate way to do it, is.. I remember hearing of one club who did a 'traditional' b&f and then the coach rated the players out of 10 for each game and then the guy with the highest average won the coaches award.. so that way the most consistent player won the award and guys averages fluctutated if they had stand out good, or bad games..

Well done to Snels, had a chat with the big fella and he was stoked! Well deserved..

Would be keen to hear who polled more or less than expected, as posted by Modra6??

I have always been involved where the B&F finishes after the home and away, and there is then a Player of the finals award which has been a very prestigous award to win.

My only drama with this way of doing it is, seeing the award is so prestigious, do the player finals awards get put on an honour board or photos taken to display somewhere prominently as your B&F winners do. Stanhope actually had the B&F finish at the H&A when I started playing seniors but in 2000 I moved to get it to include the finals series and that has been how it worked ever since, ended up costing myself a B&F because of it!
Has to be included though, most important games of the year need to be part of deciding the clubs Best & Fairest Player.

Haven't seen a lot of the opposition thus far Tav, but one I thought would go ok from seeing him against us was Cam Beazley.

One I thought Sam La Porta would of polled a bit more, James Martin had a purple patch mid season without receiving too many votes and i watched him basically win the game for rushy against Murch kicking 9 without polling a vote. Also great that ruckman were vastly among the votes. Breen and Freeman both polled very well. Few others in other grades to go with them. Anybody else surprised by any votes?

Does that mean you put in a Leon Davis/Steve Milne finals series to miss out on the B&F, and if so will that poor form hopefully continue on to this Sunday?

I think there's always a few iffy ones. Undera round 1 win by 20 goals and a longwood bloke gets 2 votes. The first time we played Avenel, we won by 11 goals and young Duncan got 3 votes.... go figure??

U would prob find there is alot of iffy ones once u speak to a few clubs. We beat Gig in round 17 I think it was by 40 odd points and all we could manage was 2 votes:confused:

We just had an absolute gun playing in 03 that goes by the name of Mark McQueen that just went up about 3 gears for the finals, would ruck then rove his own taps.:thumbsu:

Yeh, he would've tore up the GV if he had of played.. He played a bit of WAFL, I think. Anyway, although not as credentialled as James or Exell, probably just as good a pick up, given the impact he had come September and that the other 2 were near the end of their careers by the time they got to Stanhope. McQueen would tap, rove, push forward, then help out in defence.. Massive tank and pretty tough, too.

Haha, you'd hope so, but no, got a few votes but as mentioned Mark McQueen smashed it, he polled 3 3s in both our finals games to get a maximum 18votes.

I'm pretty sure your coach might be against it:D:D...i seeem to remember him telling me that he was in front at the end of last years H&A season but norrowly missed out b/c he'd done his knee and missed out on finals votes:D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

VT will hopefully welcome the return of Jack Smyth, Brad Gleeson, Bo Harrison and Sean Horsburgh this week

Watched VT twice this year and recon Jack Smyth leadership down back could make all the difference.
If these 4 are fit i will tip them to beat the Mainland!!

Did Snels get the Votes ? Was he playing on You ?

Don't think Snels did get the 3 against us, probably should have, Gig did get the 3 & 1 though, and some ******* for us who was lucky to have 20 touches got 2. And no mainland wasnt playing on snels, was on the sidelines watching.
Was the same on the weekend, big Nev got the 3 and had no influence on the game and the two players who got the 2 & 1 probably weren't in our best 6.
Usually works itself out and obviously did this year as Snels was a hot fav.
