Dissapointing if Rooster does leave us, i haven't heard alot so far on players exiting Rushy and this is news to me. If he left and played GV i'd say it would be to Mooroopna to join Lynchy. It's hard to say how he would go in GV. Has ability, there's no question about that. At times however he gets pretty lazy and seems quite lethargic running around. Still, a blow to the Tiges if we lose him

Wouldnt think any GV clubs would look to recruit him, unless its for the 2nds, seen him run around at Tonny and he struggled to get a kick there and left half way thru. Would need to get a licence too, is his mum still driving him around??

Yeah not sure on whether he is looking at heading to GV footy because he is being chased or whether its just a choice from him to try and play a higher standard of football. Agree that he may struggle up in the ones, as i have mentioned he is a pretty lethargic footballer at times but has good skills and the ability to play well. Is regarded as a senior member of our team and needs to find more consistency and hunger for the game to reach his potential. And yes Scotty is still licence free

It'd be a massive blow to lose Rooster, but there's plenty of upside to him and I could see him going really well at GV level. He's a good size, fit, tough and has good skills. I reckon he could play some consistently good footy on a back flank. I realise he didn't go very well at Tonny, but that's not to say he should be written off as a GV player.. I don't think there's that big a gap between him and Shane Lynch, and Lynchy played some really good footy in a quality GV side (mooroopna) this year.

Would love to see him stay him at Rushy, but he's only going to improve as a player in a GV environment.

Any player will benefit from being in a GV environment, if hes committed to having a crack. Lambden can play, but has he got the commitment to succeed at GV level, remember Lynchy has had 2 years at Mooroopna and played some 2nds to get to where he is, plus I doubt many GV clubs will tolerate Lambdens off field behavior, he has to keep his pants on at club functions!

Any news on when it will be 100% certain on what wunghnu are doing in regards to next year so to find out when a fixture might be out? Also any other big ins or outs for teams at this stage?
Avenel start their preseason training 29th november, have other clubs started back yet?

Pace mentioned over the weekend that they were on the radio & said they were presenting to the kdfl clubs on wed night, so goin by that i'd say we'd know by thurs or fri what the deal is there!!:thumbsu:

I'm 100% sure that Wunghnu won't get the votes required for one of a few reasons.

The teams that are a fair distance from Wunghnu won't let them in because they add little to the KDFL (even though they did field an Under 17's team, which Merrigum & Longwood didn't this year) & the ones that could lose players if they were admitted (Tally & Ardmona) won't vote them in solely due to self interest.

But, they do have the VCFL option and that they force Wunghnu into the KDFL, with the PDFL's blessing, so I would reckon that we won't find out about Wunghnu admission until the new year.

So in theory a draw could still be released, and if Wunghnu is successful they could just take the place of the bye? (In most cases... rounds with multiple team byes could be confusing)

I personally see this as the wrong option, any movement away from a 10 team league should be restricted and this scenario makes the KDL 14 and PDL-NE 8... not good for overall league/s. I honestly doubt that Wunghnu's chances of survival will be any greater in the KDL.

I would've thought that a draw could be done, one with 13 teams and one with 14 with the addition of Wunghnu (If they decide to take it to appeal).

I agree with Andrew Chittick in that having another club would make our league harder to manage, because if you went 14 teams, there would be a big chance of having a top 6 (which I am against because a top 5 is the best system by far, even though Murchison seems to like finishing around there), plus the gap between the top and the bottom would be even greater.

The reason why the PDFL's split competition worked was that you got to play each other at least twice, and the teams were pretty even in both divisions.

Geographically, Tally has always been an anomaly because most of the traditional KDFL sides are west of Mooroopna, and Tally's out on their own (Geographically they should be in the Picola League SE) , and really if it wasn't for Tally being in the league Wunghnu wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting in

Shepp News today says Wunghnu didn't recieve a single vote in last nights meeting.

Suprised to read that not a single club voted for Wunghnu to join the league. No suprise that the majority wouldn't have voted them in but thought atleast one or two clubs would find the magpies joining our league appealing. Having said that though them joining our league does make the draw different and possibly harder on clubs/the league. The season would become longer you would think as more teams would be competing, the bye could be gone again and there would have to be a top 6 which of course would reshuffle the whole finals setup. Now where to for Wunghnu? Is there any more options available for them? Would hate to see a club just finish

Lancaster seem to be keeping the majority of their list with most senior players expected to stay on board, only concerns at this stage i'd say would be Casey, Thommo and Brunty. Casey and Thommo are linked back with Ky and Brunty is considering a move back to Tonny

Hank i heard the other day that Freo is coming across to play at Stanhope this coming season, apparently best mates with Lowey and Stanhope are looking for a decent ruckman. Surely he wouldn't be leaving murch?

Yes we would like a ruckman, but no believe freo is staying put at Murch, may have another one of Lowey's Ruckmen mates though hopefully!;)

Just got word here at work that Undera will be coming back to the pack with a host of there top liners confirmed to be gawwwwn. Obrien,Vouragalis x2,Hazlewood,Beazley,Downey,Benny S,Choppa Mahoney (retired),Ford x2 plus a few more being thrown around. That's a fair ol wack from there GF 21, alot of work to do for the 2 new coaches to get the Lions back
to September action.
Both Naggaz and Undera falling away opens things up for Stanny and Lancy to pounce and possibly a club like Murch who have been close to it for a good while.

Hmm would make a great inclusion!! but in my opinion it would be very unlikely.
I did hear however that the Murch Ruckman was very close to switching to the Mainland, but decided to stay with the Hoppers, although he is partial to the odd backflip.
Maybe Lastline14 could shed more light on the topic...

This was bound to happen eventually. I'm not too sure on how many locals play at Undera but i would say a fair few are from the Shepp region with the odd Melbourne based player. All clubs eventually lose a fair whack of players in the one hit if they have recruited players not from within the local area. Although im still not sold that all these players will leave. I'd say Choppa would retire(if he has not already) and Beazer and Shagger would probably return to play footy in Melbourne. I was informed a few of the players are looking at heading to Mooroopna to have a crack at GV, not sure who these players would be however

does anyone know if any of the betting agenceis offer bets on the kdfl, i know there was one a few years back but cant remeber who it was.

Brunt is taking most of pre season, casey wont go back to ky to play twos, if thommo goes any where it will be ech united, lanky to have a big go at heath barnett now that pettifer has left.

Who is coaching VT in season 2011??

I have heard a very strong whisper that an ex AFL player by the name of Hadyn Lamaro will be taking over the reins.

Was in VT on Saturday to have a look around and did bring a few mates with him.

Some very keen boys and huge names being spoken about at the moment.

Very exciting times ahead for the Violet Town Football/Netball Club.
