Dane Church from Mooroopna, didnt play last year after a knee reco, onballer.
Logan Church from Merrigum, still eligible for 3rds but would expect him to play seniors
Brad Lowe from Mooroopna, Coach, in and under onballer
Ty Guiney from Kyabram, good pick up, half forward/midfielder
Scott Marshall returning twos player
James Mensfeld lives and works in town, originally from Nagambie, Half back.
Jason Norman returning from Merrigum to play Full Forward in the twos!!![]()
VT played first praccy match against Benalla All Blacks today. We got up 16.11.107 to 15.6.96. Was a great hit out with skills being of a good standard from both teams.
All Blacks said they have a praccy match against Ardy or something soon as well.
Anyone else had a praccy match this weekend?
Brush Haebach for All Blacks snagged about 5 or 6 I reckon and I think Lamaro got 8 or 9. One of our new players Taz got a fair bit of it off the half back line and set up a few. Was a good team effort right around the field with everyone doing their bit when it was needed most. We had 5 senior blokes unavailable due to niggles or parties and I think All Blacks are still waiting to fly over a couple of recruits from the WAFL just prior to their season starting. Both teams had 26 or 27 players for the day, which was handy with the sun hitting everyone pretty hard in the middle of the dayGood stuff Bodz, who played well from your point of view?
We have our first game on the 18th against Colbo.

Might have already been said by Tav or a Lanky person, but just noticed that Lanky vs Rushy has been moved out of round 6 and been brought forward to the week before round 1? What's the reason?
Should be a great game to watch with both teams shaping up well if clearances are anything to go by
Playing under lights at Ky I believe

speaking of riddell league, hot off the press gerard liddell has signed at the swannies as assisstant coach to coxy. i also hear a number signings to follow. the swans seem to have plenty of small forwards, they could do with another subba type player who rotate between f.f and c.h.f. the avenel boys might be on the improve.........
Hey Bodz, sounds like Lamaro's in good knick, just the casual 8 or 9..
Pretty sure Lancy approached Rushy and the league about getting this moved forward for a couple of reasons, the main one being that it now means they get a bye in the 2nd half of the draw (??)
They also reckon they'll get increased revenue from playing under lights in Ky. From what I understand they've said they'll reciprocate the favour next year, so it might be a permanent fixture to see us and the wombats lock horns under lights at Ky at the start of each season.
Also, heard a whisper of a reliable source from Stanhope that they're just about to sign 2 boom recruits.. Care to shed some light Hank..?[/QUOTE]
Honestly news to me Tav, hope your right but not sure on that one, been missing out on the blokes we have been chasing so far. Tally have trumped us money wise on a couple, when they come back for the 2nd and 3rd time saying we need to up the ante, you have to take the stance that maybe they aren't going to be the right fit for the club anyway.

Any names mentioned there Tav?
As Hank said would be very nice though.
Was talking to Gezza at the snake pit saturday night and he seems confident the Swans will improve, said they are working on a handful of ex GVFL players / team mates to move across with him, he was dissapointed that a few of the young blokes are leaving but thats footy. If they manage to sign the blokes he was talking about i have no doubt they will improve in season 2011.

I wouldn't believe they told you hank, I know there was only one offer from us, sounds like you were played.
That will be great news if the swans can land these guys joeyboy...still confident the swans will go alright despite losing a couple of these young blokes. First hit out for avenel is in 2 wks against katunga i think up there
Nah, no names mentioned, I got the impression it may have been country players and my guesses were Percy Roberts and/or Patty Rattray..? But I assume Percy will go around again at the Cats.. Has Rattray signed anywhere?.
