can tell you that most will be senior players.. wicks, gage(a gun), beard, douthie, whybrow, s nelson, webb, fletcher and the perry boys.. although not sure how many games tavis will play. while milner and bruce should be there abouts also. so things looking up at tigerland. our major losses are martin and johnson (even though we didnt see the best of him) and unsure what young todd clarke is up too this year

How are all clubs looking for Under 18's this season?
VT will be fielding a full team this year. The young lads have been getting about 15 - 18 at training which is great to see after the last couple of seasons, where we've struggled to get 12 kids out on the field.
Not sure if they'll be premiership contenders or not, but it's just great to see them get a proper team together again, especially for the 8 or 9 of them that have turned up no matter what last year and the year before, knowing they are going to be heavily undermanned and probably get pumped. Hopefully they get rewarded this year for their loyalty with a lot of closer games and some wins. Great to see!

just noticed a crane dropping tempory netball change rooms of at avenel, any chance that crane can pick some footballers up god knows they may need them

Avenel played Katunga up there today and won by about 3 goals in pretty hot conditions. Still alot of the senior boys to come back into the side for round one who didnt play today.
Any other sides have a praccy match today?

Dave has moved to the nsw coast & is coaching a side up there. Too many outs to mention
18 that played atleast 1 senior game last year are gone. A few quality arrivals that will keep us thereabouts.

What jumpers were worn, as both teams are the Swans?

Murch V Stanhope
Senior 3 term game Stanhope got up by a goal, overall after the 2's 3 terms Murch were in front 17 goals to 14.

Willo and Pearso the Shepp East recruit went well for Murch deep forward with us having our two key defenders out in Ryan Logan & Nick Gibbs. Young Burls also got a fair bit of it. Not sure how many Murch had out, but we were missing 8-10 walk up starts. Hoota didnt play again but did an ordinary job umpiring:eek:
Was also embarrassing to watch Willo and Sleethy cuddling all day::eek:, (When the ball was near them Willo did make Sleethy look silly though:D).
Murch's youngsters turned it on in the last couple of terms to run away with the win.

Was out at Dookie on sat to see them up against Tally in a 5 qtr practice match. Tally went down by 4 goals but looked ok with alot of players out due to a wedding..looks like it could take a few games to get there game plan together but could suprise a few clubs when they do..

VT played Kilmore at VT yesty in a 4x20min quarters praccy match, both teams had a few out, think they were missing more talls though. We got the jump on them early in the match and held the lead throughout the rest of the game and ran out winners by 25pts in the end.

Love it. Lancaster and flag in the same sentence and it's only March! Grand finals are played in September and Lancaster's record is almost as bad as Murch CC in March!:p

come on woody, nobodies form in finals is as bad as murch c.c but as i said lancy 'probably' will win the flag. and with the additions of siera, nunn and meka, and no real loses, must admit they're looking good..

Matt Hodgetts was sick, and we had around 3-4 of our senior squad missing, but all in all it was a good hit-out. That Pearso looked like he can play a bit, and I liked how our young blokes (especially Nick Airs & Tom McCormick) played in the middle as well, especially with their 2nd and 3rd efforts.

Luckily that injury to David Murray wasn't as bad as first thought, even though Murch were only playing 5/8ths of your senior squad plus some twos players and some kids, it was good for both sides, and now we wait two weeks for the real stuff to start.

Lanky has at least won something in the past 10 years, my club's (Murchison) is more like South Africa, we can't win the games that matter and we both wear Green and Gold.

I dont reckon they will lose a game, cant see anyone challenging them , picked up more than they have lost.

Agree, do you reckon the KDFL will investigate me if I lob a G on them at $2.50?

Get fev to place the bet for you and you should be right. If lancaster have a good 1st up win this saturday against rushy, i think the odds might tighten. You gunna have a look hank . ?

Yeah might head in for a sticky beak, wasn't sure if it was on Friday or Satdy night as the big Square v United clash is on Friday night, so seeing it is on Satdy night I'd say I'll be in there.

Thats not a bad win bodzy as kilmore should be a pretty good side this year in the riddell league. Did Aaron James play against you guys?

Off the top of my head I can name Gray, Sloan, Lowe, Ferrari, Logan, Hanslow, Gibbs that didn't turn out on Saturday.
In saying that it gave some other players an opportunity to put there name forward for selection which will make selection next Thursday very interesting.

But as you said was a good hitout for both sides and will be interesting to see how we go when we come across one another in the coming season
