Yeh, interesting you say that Hank, I was having a quick look at the ladder and Lancaster's % was over 400! While Rushy has the next highest at 190 odd.. Not many teams in any league at this stage of the year have a % like that, showing how far ahead they are (or were......?) So you're probably right, 3 beating 1 was a bigger upset than 8 beating 2.

Would love to hear a report of the match from anyone who went and had a look - no doubt after he's had a few frothies Bodzy will give us a run down, but considering he's a teacher and on holidays we may have to wait until Tues or Wed..

Just taking a stab in the dark that Lamaro might have had a big influence on the result (just guessing, coz no idea if he played, or not), but I just thought if VT played Lancy in the big one, he may have been capable of winning the game himself, similar to what Damien Yze did in 02 (when Lancy went through undefeated and he jagged 10 in the GF..)

Maggies went ok against the roos, too Daryl..
Bloody too right doggy! Wish I was out on the town but unfortunately no other bugga is a teacher. Am actually heading off up the river for a few days on the sauce, so hope everyone has a lovely week at work...:p
Match Report: We've been waiting for this game since playing Stanhope, probably got our match ups right, Jack Mcpherson tagging Steve Thomson, Josh Dunne kept Ricky Busch quiet, Peerso kept Nic Casey quiet and Saddo kept Eddy quiet, we had a good attitude in our warm up and everyone backed it up game time. The teenage sensation our young 16 year old ruckman Chris Mckay had a day out. Huge crowd (for a KD match), OneFM broadcast, had a touch of finals atmosphere about it, was neck and neck all day, both teams gave it their all and were karnackered for the whole last quarter, they kept coming at us but each time they managed to score we were able to get one back. Pleasing to know they are beatable anyway.

Bodzy you will give him a bigger bloody head than he's already got.

But I reckon he might be a better prospect than a couple of recent VT thirds players in Lachy Smith (Bushies) and Josh Mellington(Freo)

And you left yourself out of those good backline players yesterday:thumbsu:

Was a standout in the interleague match and seemed a good kid to boot !

I would have thought the wombats would have been devastated considering the depleted VT line up that took the field.

Talking to an older fella from VT couple of weeks ago and he was pissing and moaning about the 80k they have spent on imports.
Might go and see if i can catch up with him this week and see what he has to say now.

Well done VT any side that win's against Lancy makes me smile :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Anyone else have young blokes playing good senior footy regualry whether still thirds or first year out ? One that has impressed at Undera would be Jack Hadjro.

How has the weekends results changed the betting Hank ? Would imagine VT would now be on the second line pretty confortably !!

Sportsbet haven't got the KDL out yet after the weekend, yes would expect VT to be wound in from there $10 quote, Undera were $6 so you'd expect them to atleast join them. Believe they are holding a fair bit on Lancy so doubt that they will come out too much.

How much has been bet on lancaster and what quote did they open at ?

Don't think you'd be able to find out how much has been bet on Lancaster, I can't imagine Sporting bet or whoever would give that info out, but pretty sure they started at $2 and they've been at about $1.60 for a while now. If they had've stuck it to VT they prob might've even gone into $1.20 or so.. Now I imagine VT will come in, but Lancaster won't drift much.

Adds another dimension to an already even year in the KDL. There'd still be 5 or 6 teams confident that if they hit form at the right time of year they're a chance for the flag.

For how far ahead they've been, the wombats don't seem to have that aura of invincibility that they perhaps they should have.

Steve Thomo would just like it known that it is not him using that account sthomo2!! He can play footy but struggles with stuff like this haha

He has enough to say out in the middle, surely he could put a few words together for us on here!!:D

Gee Sparra are you allowed to talk about having a "depleted" line up when you win, I hope you weren't going to bring that up if you lost:p. I thought it was a big no no of yours to talk about the players teams didnt have available.

He might have you there sparra, Everyone has players out including Lanky. But it does show that for the first time in along time we finally have a little bit of depth which has been good for us..

Pretty sure l know the bloke you are talking about and can tell you he does not know how much we are spending, he just thinks he does. Yes we are spending more this year than we have in previous years but due to alot of hard work by alot of people for a few years now we certainly can afford to. Also due to a couple of paid players leaving, injuries we have had to others and some at times being unavailable, I can tell you we will spend nothing around the 80k ( not that it is his or anyone elses concern ) The financial future will be strong at VT for years to come guaranted..;) The guys we have recruited are great blokes and well worth the money they get, Im sure all the people in our club would agree...

It may pay to be a little less animated. Has VT received any grants or intends to apply for any? If so, you might find that books can be "called in". KDFL clubs should have an ABN, therefore, (Feel free to step in JC) things like group certificates etc might come in to play. Of course all contracted players/coaches openly declare their additional income and claim the relevant deductions!

Tips for the weekend:

OK Hunk you have me on that one, but we did have a few more out from the previous week, and in all honesty I thought we may have gone down by 10 goals.
