Good work Hank .. and close votes in the B&F top three.
Have you a prognostication for premiers?
Considering you're premonition on July 10!!

"It might just all come down to the last round where Rushy take on VT at Home and Undera have Tally at Home.

My Top 5
Lancaster
Violet Town
Stanhope
Undera
Rushworth
Posted July 10, think that might have been spot on"

Sorry if the longwoords starting with "P" might confuse Woody..

KDFL FLAG ODDS
Lancaster 1.62
Violet Town 2.50
Undera 8.00
Rushworth 13.00
Stanhope 21.00

Lets just say I couldn't pass up on putting some more hard earned on the side that is paying $21 in what will be a 4 horse race with them still in it next weekend!! Ludicrous odds:thumbsu:, they must be holding thousands on Violet Town & Lancy.

These odds make the $13 we got mid year look like money well spent. How are you guys shaping up Hank, should be a cracker of a game. Also the other game will also be a ripper with both of these sides having a real chance at the big one..

My tips: VT by 30pts
Undera by 7pts

Yeah good get there Jaxbac, unlike the $10 I thought was good odds on us mid year:mad:, but the odds don't matter unless you salute!!
Agree whoever loses out of Undera & Rushy will be bitterly disappointed, both do have real claims to go all the way. We're shaping up ok, only one doubtful starter from last weeks side so no excuses from us, Rushy & Longwood grounds are very much made for the contested footy, so the 50/50 contests will be the deciding factor over the two games, no chance to hide:thumbsu:.

Totally agree, no excuses from our point of view, best team wins. As for the other game, will be good to see the back of one of these sides as they are both dangerous sides to play and wouldn't want to meet them in a cut throat game either. Would have to be one of the most even final series in a long time in the KDFL with any of the five sides given a great chance...

$13 for Rushworth look like pretty good odds to me, because they're the sort of side that has the capacity to surprise everyone, especially if thier key players fire (and that's why I have them as slight favourites against Undera at Longwood, Sunday), but in any case it will be a good game and one that I will stay around to watch (even though it's on Father's Day:().

Undera's odds of $8 seems a little steep to me (I think that $11 would be more accurate), but Stanhope's is about right at $21, even though they did finish 3rd, and Lancaster & Violet Town's are on the money as well.

Anyway here are my predictions for all grades for this weekend.

Qualifying Final at Rushworth Saturday

Violet Town to defeat Stanhope by 34 points

Violet Town really have the best opponent for them because a game against Undera or Rushworth would've been a lot closer (especially Rushy at home), but they will bless their good fortune with a solid win.

Lancaster to defeat Tallygaroopna by 14 points

Even though they were missing a few players last week against Murchison, I still can't see them playing two bad games in a row, regardless of how many players Tally have put into their 2nds side.

Murchison to defeat Ardmona by 11 points.

Normally, I would've given our 3rds no chance to win if both sides were full strength, but the fact that Ardmona will have Andrew Ralph out, plus the fact that they haven't played in over three weeks, could see an upset on the cards, especially if Murchison get a solid lead early, then the wheel will turn:D.

Elimination Final at Longwood Sunday

Rushworth to defeat Undera by 8 points.

This is easily the game to go and watch, (if you can due to Sunday being Father's Day), and it's a real toss-up, basically it'll be decided on how La Porta or Martin will play if either one dominates, thier side will win, but if they both fire, it'll be a real entertaining game (hopefully the rain were supposed to have Sunday doesn't happen, because a dry deck would be better for all:thumbsu:).

Undera to defeat Murchison by 13 points

Even though Murchison match up well against Undera, especially since the addition of a few players from the seniors, I think that Undera's depth will be the deciding factor (even though I hope it isn't and Murch win, if they pay like they did last week, they will win !).

Nagambie to defeat Avenel by 17 points.

Although you're not sure what Avenel will have in their side with the addition of the Assumption College lads, Nagambie looked the better side according to what I saw of them both, and the more settled team should win here.

Good Luck to all teams this weekend (except those playing Murchison :D:D, Only kidding, may the best team win:thumbsu:).

Well love playn these games were every 1 has written us off (stanhope that is) nothn to loose and no pressure on our heads. Dont be suprised with the end result peoples?:D

Congrats to Stevie T on his Medal win Monday night! Well deserved.
Also Congrats to Loz H and Chissy on their Netball medal wins. Hope you all have a big week next Saturday at the 2nd semi.

Good luck to all teams this weekend, especially the Wombats involved:thumbsu:.

VT by 39pts on Saturday.

As for Sunday...toss a coin. I'll say Rushworth by 7 pts. Won't be surprised if it goes the other way.

No pressure always pressure in finals , if you have a double chance and lose your first finals game the pressure builds for the next week.
no one wants to do a tomic out in straight sets.

Very true foxtrot, everyone does expect us to go out in straight sets though. As you say no less pressure and nothing less to lose, VT has just as much to gain and lose as us, expectations mean nothing. Your right no one wants to do a Tomic/Lancaster!!:D

Hank very well done , now all the pressure on VT , Stanhope have every thing to gain and at the least will play in a prelim.

Congrats on the win Hank, although I didn't get the chance to post I told a few people during the week I thought you'd get up, can't buy finals experience.

Can u give us a match report? Unfortunately I can't make it down tomorrow as I have to work, just hoping that the boys can get up against undera. Given we almost knocked them off last time without wicks, Martin, Rooster and drew Clarke I'm reasonably confident.

I did hear Stanhope played well and deserved the win. A good effort.
Also heard Harrison and Sleeth may have played their last games for the year (and career;)) Both went into the book.
Can anyone confirm?

Yeah, would be very close to the mark I'd say....
Well done to Stanhope, they ran the ball beautifully and used the footy much better than us. We were shithouse, huge shock to the system and reality check, got done in every aspect. No excuses, we had a good team in, didn't talk, didn't run both ways and murdered the footy. Need to lift our game straight away and get ready for playing Undera or Rushy at Avenel next Sunday... We definitely won't be putting in another performance like we did today!
No. 20 for Stanhope and Lowey absolutely killed us and Gibbs was solid down back. No good players for us.

Haha, nah Wallis is in the clear on this one.
Think Sleethy and I will be right Lancastralia;), Sleethy will definately get off, as for me you can never tell what the tribunal might hand out but would hope to get off and a week at worst. Wasn't much in it.
No.20 was Chris Cheong and yeah Bodzy he did a good job on Brendan Gleeson and also won a fair bit of the footy himself. We were certainly lucky that Lamaro didnt have his kicking boot on in the first half otherwise I'm sure we would have been behind at the main break. James Fraser was another that was great off half back.

Ty Guiney missed due to an ankle and will be right next week, but we lost another for the year in Axle Foley with a knee.

Good News out of Girgarre, Look out for local paper

Yes Patto has taken on the Gig at Gig, I am sure he will look to build the club up step by step and have them competitive again. Think its a good move from the Kangaroos Hierarchy.:thumbsu:

It was a good article about Mark Patten, and his hopes for what he can do for Gig, (It will be interesting who he will bring with him, but I suspect that's what they're going to appoint an Assistant Playing Coach for, to get players whilst he will just coach), especially when the KDFL is on the front page for the wrong reasons (I didn't quite see it but as they say a picture speaks a thousand words).

Apart from that, it was a good first week of the finals, with some shock results, some fancied sides having thier colours lowered, and some very good matches sat up for next week.

Yesterday, Rushy just ran Undera off thier feet, and they had the advantage of a few handy talls as well, it was an entertaining game, and if Rushy can produce that form next week they are within striking range of a shock premiership.

The seconds was a good game, (apart from the fact that Murch won :D), and it was a real team effort from Murch but thier defence stood out especially John Trapani & Locky Short, they'll play Tally next week which should also be a close hard fought game.

The 3rds was a very good win for Avenel over a gallant Nagambie, Avenel used the wind better and more importantly were able to snag a few goals against the wind, whilst Nagambie didn't use the best of thier oppotunities.

But, next week the Swans play Ardmona at Avenel which should provide another headache for the KDFL, because there's rumours going around that they might not even play if Ralph gets off (I hope they don't and that's just an idle threat, even though he shouldn't you would think) I hope that doesn't eventuate but they will need to get more experienced umpires for that match, and they need to keep it on a tight leash.

Big call saying he will definitely get off?

One week for yourself? I don't think the umpire would have been impressed sending the victim off a few times after the incident due to the blood rule.

Would hope that the Towners would not put in such an insipid performance again

especially when the KDFL is on the front page for the wrong reasons (I didn't quite see it but as they say a picture speaks a thousand words).

Interesting to see that the Shepp News posted a series of photos in the paper but failed to show the two photos that lead to that incident
