thought the yellow card for the trip was right, but didnt warrant report imo.
Isnt that why we have the send off rule??

Think the bloke who belted Casey at the end is lucky the ump wasnt on the boundary side instead of behind, was a good punch from behind.

whats thoughts of umps today? I think they struggled with consistancy, seemed to miss obvious frees, then pay silly ones. (Both sides)

Is Ferrari fit hank? thought he was quiet

Agree on umps, seemed to try and let the game flow which is good in my opinion, therefore letting a few things go but then they would pay one out of nowhere, thought Stanhope had a bad run with them in the middle two quarters, but we seemed to get a couple of dubious ones in the last.

As for the send off, totally agree, but from what I can gather these days (not sure when it changed) if someone gets sent off I think you have to be reported as well, never used to be that way.

Ferrari has had an interrupted season through injury and work, does shift work so hasnt trained much and would be lucky to have reached double figure games. Thought he was serviceable today. Pryde was good for them though and will be a big loss come the GF.

Fill me in about the payments John? No speaka da englis

Redlegs senior footy have not yet got a wooden spoon in the KDFL, Sparra .. but I pulled one out of the cupboard from the Benalla League days to give the VT a subtle stir!! Best of luck in the semi..
Cheers Waz!!;)

Need the experts to confirm or deny .. but last I knew a yellow card was send-off 15 minutes .. red card send-off for the rest of the game and reported.
Clarification for a withered carrot please punters?
Cheers

The rules where when the cards come in, red card sent off for rest of game and automatic report, yellow card 15 minutes and option to report. This may still be the case, but I thought it may have changed a couple of years ago so that a yellow card was also an automatic report, I can't remember the last time someone was yellow carded and not reported in a Senior game? Although I have seen it happen a few times in 3rds and Reserves games with club umpires.
A perfect example of where a yellow card and no report should be used is the Eddy incident on Saturday. Was a deliberate trip but no one was going to get injured by his actions. Give him 15mins for his mistake and move on.

A huge thumbs down  to Lancaster's Nick casey for biting Stanhope player Brenton Gray, totally uncalled for. Definitely highlighting Caseys lack of common sense. Im sorry but if you are going to play with intent like that, you deserve whatever comes your way.

he's always been a total dick that guy

Violet Town out in straight sets..

Interestingly enough, the Towners are yet to win a final since joining the KDFL.

Sets up a fierce clash with Stanhope and Rushy next week. The Lions will get a couple back from suspension/injury. Hopefully it'll be a good day next week.

Are Stanhope pursuing the biting claims?

Unsure at this stage, the evidence is compelling and he would no doubt miss a fair whack of footy, the club is up in the air on whether they are comfortable taking it further though. Some clubs jump at the chance to try and rub players out but we have never started an investigation before, one of the lowest things to do to someone though, especially biting their back which means that he was on top of Hoota.

Either way, I would assume Nic would still be right to play in the GF as it normally takes weeks to hear an investigation.

Come on Jayco 50% of the population are dicks (the other 50% just wish that they were), surely you mean that he is just misunderstood. Anyway, it appears that the word "alleged" needs a little bit more of a run in this forum, especially if Stanhope don't ask for a "please explain". Which begs the question, why wouldn't you ask for an investigation? Alleged spitting, biting, kicking, Hopoating, tripping, referring to a player as having "Down's Syndrome" and squirrel gripping etc are all disgraceful acts so the sooner these "dicks" are investigated and approach sixteen weeks the better!

Great win today, but it must be said we were lucky that Gleeson didn't play, Bailey & lamaro both got injured and Bo Harrison was seemingly on one leg.

Bodzy played a very good game and is a lot quicker than I remember.. Lanky will love watching us and Stanhope going hammer & tongs next Saturday, ironically we'll have to beat the 'lions' 3 weeks in a row to make the big one..

I thought drew & Tom Clarke were ex exceptional today, as well as Jedd & sam perry. Jungle, pest & Daniel Lambden were all beaten so hopefully they all fire on Saturday.

Enjoy the week Hank, should be a cracker next weekend in front of a big crowd at Stanhope.

Thanks Hank.
For instance, what is a “deliberate trip”?
If a player dives to tackle .. yet “deliberately” lets the arms slide down below the knees. Is that a reportable offence? In most cases the umpie must judge on intent for tripping or a desparate tackle .. being a mournful Essendon supporter at this point in time .. just ask “Mr. Gadget”, Dustin Fletcher!!

The coloured cards issue remains a conundrum though. Yellow card should be sin bin .. 15 minutes .. if reportable use a Red card. The Red card should be match ending and auto report. Maybe the “powers that be” should put out a clarifier.

Traffic lights ..eh? Maybe give the umpies a green card to flash at players and supporters when that umpie gets a compliment!! Luv 'em or hate ‘em – we got to have ‘em.

Cheers

Yes should be at capacity, looking forward to it, don't be afraid to book your flight with Tiger for Satdy morning Tav!!;)
Woody, no need to use alleged when it is fact.

JC, not sure on the red card for any report, especially in finals, if an umpire gets it wrong and a player is found not guilty at the tribunal you wouldnt want that side to have played with 17 players for the rest of the game and lost a GF by a kick or two.

Good win to Rushy Tav, hope ya's win it now! Yeah wasn't a great way to start on our behalf, to rock up and hear Spoon Gleeson's calf was no good as well as Jugle's seemingly first challenge for the year Josh Dunne, out with food poisoning... You kicked the first 4 goals of the game with a strong wind in the first and we never were able to peg t back good and proper and take a lead after that. We got you when you had the wind in the 3rd after you won nearly every centre clearance and I must admit I went in to the 3 quarter time huddle thinking we had it...... But full credit to Rushy, you played with heart and clearly played for ya jumper! Something you don't always passionately see these days, but you boys did, so if we have to be out, and we are, then go Rushy, hope ya smash Stanny and then an unfit Lanky in a fortnight;)...
Rushy premiers 2011

Yeh actually (not sure of his name) but forgot to make mention of the old bald digga for Rushy that looks like he's goin' on 45 (surely...) from when you beat us in round 6, once again off the half backline he destroyed us, as did big Drewy (as per usual in a big game, still think he's the biggest X-factor in the comp) and Tav just a lazy 4 to ya-self in a semi-final after F-all footy in 2011

Congrats to rushy on beating VT, from what i seen of the game VT gave a cheap shot when ever they could:thumbsdown:, and rushy just played football hard and fast in the 1st and 4 th to win.:D

Did'nt go watch yesterday but seems similar to the week before,3/4 time thought we(und) had a big chance with the breeze in the last only for Rushy to run us off our feet against the breeze. They are match fit Rushy and i hope they can go all the way. Either way still think the winner of this weeks game will run Lanky off their feet in the GF,just think that 3 weeks off in 6 weeks you can lose alot of momentum and match hardness !!! Well i hope so anyway :D.

What a load of crap

you must have been one of those old pricks(men and women) standing next to the VT coaches box who obviously where at their first Rushy game for the year.

Cheap shot my arse - Piss off somewhere else if you are going to post crap like that

VT played close contact footy as they did the previous week against Stanhope, Rushworth played close contact footy as they did the previous week against Undera. Under this pressure VT folded first. Certainly an unnecessary hit on on one of the Perry's but not much else. Why the foul language Sparra?

Sorry woody not a happy camper today and I don't need pricks taking cheap shots on here
