It's going to take some work Hanky.. VT, even if they stay about the same this year, are undoubtedly going to be in the top 2, you'd think. Plus, they have the added confidence of winning it so comprehensively this year.

The issue for the rest of the comp is that, even the other top 5 sides have to keep what they've got plus add at least 4-5 quality recruits, to get near them. Rushy have started their recruiting exceptionally well and Jake Lloyd was a quality choice to coach the side, but on the down side, will be without 2 of their top 5, in Jason Webb and Drew Clarke (who are cousins and were both involved in serious & unfortunate incidents that resulted in bad injuries), so would need to recruit 7 to challenge VT.

At this early stage, it's hard to see where the challenge is going to come from; are the dogs a smokey..? How much improvement will Lancy have..? Can Chalk get Stanhope up and firing..? Will Rushy get Lynch, Martin, Kealy etc back..?

Could anyone shed some light on how Tim Wicks has fared for Rushworth last couple of seasons?

I think his playing record is something like 3 league medals and 8 best and fairests in the loddon valley league, and although 37-ish had a solid year at Rushy, playing mainly in the ruck and down back. 6ft 5, keeps himself in good knick, he always has a crack. Very confident and positive player and coaches in the same vein. Took the tigers to consecutive finals campaigns (including an unlikely GF appearance in 2011) the last 2 seasons, but from afar, appeared to fall out of favor over a quote he made in the local paper (which is borderline ridiculous, but seems to be what happened..).

Apparently he's started positively in his new role at inglewood, signing Isaac douthie, who is a hard at it, super fit utility & Stephen Kirby, a skillful wingman. He's also hit me up to try and get some top line players from up here (Darwin) and is going full tilt at recruiting.

In talk of recruiting, any truth that McNamara medallist and lanky front liner, Steve Thompson, has signed at lalbert..?

Good to see the tribunal stood strong and took action over the grand final brawl !!!!!! Well done. That is not wanted at any GAME. At the end of the day it's only a game and we all get to go home :)

Mooroopna Man appointed Coach at Undera, Stanhope the first to put the challenge up to Violet town with some significant signings that should see them Top 3 at worst.

Once outside the Top 4 (this year) in past 14 years so don't see it as a big statement, history says that they will be right in the mix, showed that with most to pick from they could well and truly match it with other sides in Top 5 this year, smashed Undera last H&A, and knocked off Rushy. Very speculative to write other sides off ATM, but would back them to leap frog everyone but VT!!!:thumbsu: Reckon Rushy might drop out of the 5. Lost top liners/talls in Douthie, A. Clarke, Webb, Wicks already.

Just checked the calendar and it read...October. Love the "already" part for Rushworth especially since A.Clarke barely played. What about the "already" gone players from the Nagambie, Murchison and Undera for that leap frog to take place? Don't forget, signatures are like ****holes, everybody has one.

I've heard the 3 players rushy had from deni are leaving too. I think Lloyd might have his hands full this year avoiding the dreaded slide !!!!!

Think u will find that the aynsley boys will be headn their as there father is tied up there, micka coad and maybe young dursto. Think stanhope over the past 10 years have always lost at least 8 players every year even when they were successful. No doubt chalkman will put more than a competitive side on the park with many more signings to cum.
