Great game of footy at lancy yesterday in front of a very big crowd with the gum kicking a very late goal to win by the small of margins At
different times during the game both sides thought their way back in the game when they looked gone The rivalry between these two sides
is massive But after the game you would think they were best of mates as they filled the lancy rooms after the game for a well earnt drink and
chat Lancy will now play Stanhope at ardy should be a rippon contest Same 2 sides that thought out this same game last year with Stanhope
smashing the wombats I don't think that will happen again lancy with a healthy list are way better than last year!!!
PS THE gum will be hell bent in getting Connally of at the tribunal he was booked for kicking!!!!

Yeah Swoop it was an awesome game to be involved in, just a hard fought fierce battle all day long! Probably 1 of the Top 5 home & away games I've ever been apart of! & also that final 2 positions in the Top 6 came down to the wire!

I must congratulate Undera & Al Richo on a massive effort this year, with all their pre-season departures everyone thought they were guna struggle all year but have defied the odds, worked hard & missed a finals spot by 2.7%.... Well done Undera....

Also as Swoop said, awesome effort by the Merrigum Football Club by having a heap of players & supporters come into the rooms after the game, the rivalry is definitely there on the field but the respect is there off it!!

It looks like it's going to be a ripping finals series as I don't think any of the sides will be "Making up the numbers" this time round....

Ps Normo it would be great if you could bring that slab of Jim Beams with you next weekend, bets a bet.... Cheers :D:p;)

Yeah will do mate.. But wasn't the bet we bothe had to consume the JBs.. :)

Ryan jones took out girgarres best and fairest today after a solid year with ash hughes runner up. Brett hobbs taking the twos and jared mcmahon the thirds. Any other clubs have their count this weekend? If not who do you think will win it at your club?

Yeah that was definitely the deal mate, u have a good memory.... Hahaha It's slightly ironic though that we've talked about this nearlly all year & we end up playing each other....

I was looking forward to that cold drink u were guna shout too.... Obviously you hung around long enough to stir the pot abit from the boundary there infront of the canteen?? :D:D

Nah all good mate u can still shout me that bourbon come finals time.... :p

Yeah bets still on mate, I believe we will make finals....

Here ^^^^ is a post we had back in June, it's like it was always going to happen.... Haha

Congratulations on the win to big Ryno & a great bloke to go with it.... Also think he's a shoe in for the umpires votes thing in the booklet.... :thumbsu:

Nagambie had their vote count last night. Closest count I can recall with 3 players level until yesterday's final game. David Price won with Mick Shiels runner-up.

That's interesting, don't u's do votes into finals? Or do u's just do a best finals player or something? Will also be interesting to see how many players win their club B&F & didn't get an invite to the league vote count? There's 1....

Not sure why there's all this fuss going on about players getting 'invited' to the league count. The league usually invites the coach, if playing, and one of the clubs leading players in the media award. Anyone can go to the vote count, you don't have to be invited. So if you think there's a player at your club that you thinks a chance, ring him and let him know when its on. Pretty sure there will be plenty of seats available as the attendance isn't always great... maybe the league should send out more invites;)

its a e-mail to all clubs with a list of who might be in the top 10 for all awards i'm fairly sure they want the winners to be present if possible.

I realise that anyone can go, but as people have stated with this year's final 6 with the last spot that unless you get invited your only "making up the numbers".... (Apparently) Haha But I'm not fussed about the invite situation, I just said that it will be interesting to know between the club's & league counts what the difference is.... & we've already seen 1 with Naggas.... That's all....

Well that's an obvious answer Fox but what if both games a very close, does that mean the losing sides are making up the numbers? Or would that mean it's a start of a great finals series??

Just while we're on the topic, who do u think are " making up the numbers"?

Let's hope for a great finals series. Nagambie have done a great job with limited depth. Merrigum finished on top and have added some real class. Murch has regained some confidence recently. Stanhope in 3rd place again. Avenel in their first finals series for some time and Lancaster charging late. Bring it on!

Exactly my point GK.... All I want for Christmas is a good finals series.... Haha

yep you are right if teams turn up to play in finals then all have a chance
teams 5 and 6 have equal chance right now and then on the day do something
to gain the advantage.
any bats a chance for the medal ?

Nah mate, we all thought that Tom Davies was in with a red hot chance but didn't get the call up.... So think it's fair to say that the medal isn't coming out Lanky way this year.... All my tips for the medal have been off the pace so far, so I think I'll wait until Wednesday night & see who wins it!

No- one from the mainland either..

Perhaps Longwood..Or Avenel as Meeky's son plays there.. Haha
Well from the word getting around our rooms after the game on Saturday who the umps said they gave their votes too (as they do to the old folk once they put their whistle down & get half a froffy into them :D).... All I can say is :eek::eek::eek:.... No wonder no one got a call from the league.... :D;)
