So what's the final decision on the Longwood v Murch game? Is it going to be classed as a draw or forfiet etc? Not that the result will have any impact on the Top 6 as Murch can't go up or down but it will have an impact on the Wooden spoon as Longwood & Girgarre are equal on the bottom? If Longwood get any points for yesti that will take them off the bottom of the ladder & almost guarantee them not getting the spoon? Anyway that will be an interesting decision for the league to sort out!!

Next what was the final result between Violet Town & Tally? The scores haven't been posted yet?

& lastly 1 for u Normo, Wagstaff?? I thought u said he was done & dusted for the year? His name was on the team sheet yesti?

Also here are my tips for the league medal:

Chris "Killa" Kilmartin to take the gong with Tom Davies coming in 2nd.... Think with Merrigums win/loss ratio will be the final determining factor! Both players have had an awesome year....

Goal Kickers:

1st, Patty Ratray- Currently 86 (I think he will just miss the 100 with only a lazy 10 next week to finish on 96)
2nd, Eric "Eka" Edwards- Currently 80 (Might be abit hard for him to catch the Rang, but with 5 next week he'll finish on 85)
3rd, Heath Barnett- Currently 73 (Old mate Barney has shown he has still got some spring in the step & with 5 next week will finish the season on 78. Not sure about the other forwards tho but I'd say Barney has probably kicked close to if not more than 80 behinds this year & might need a full pre season of goal kicking next year :D)
& about 5-6 players in the late 50's early 60's battling it out for 4th & 5th....

But it has been great to see alot of dominant Forwards this year & not just 1....

I will reserve my opinion for the premiers for another week or so.... ;)

Yeah ok, I was just repeating what I had heard from a league person.... But anyway I dare say there would be some traditional rivalry between the 2 sides anyway being their geographical locations.... Should be a great day & I heard it was supposed to be broadcast on the radio? If so it might be worth a listen.... Cheers
Dunno about hatred between the clubs, but there was a bit of to

Shouldn't be to hard a decision to make, if the ground was unplayable 2 points each, (there were KDNFL & VCFL rep's checking the ground on Sat morning, what was their decision ????) if it was deemed playable, Murchison forfeit, Longwood 4 points.

Well I don't have any involvement with either club (Avenel or Nagambie) but from what I've heard I would say that both being the most southerly clubs of the league that there would be some traditional rivalry & with the word rivalry naturally comes "hatred".... That may not be hatred that both teams want to kill each other, I based it on they hate to see the other club doing better than each other so they naturally hate each other on the field hence back to the word rivalry.... ;)

& on the other topic of Longwood & Murch my late mail is that the ground was declared "playable" by both the League & the VCFL & it was Murch that said NO! & based on that I was told that Murch will receive no points (all 4pts to Longwood) & that they will also cop a fine from the league?

If that's the case will Murch make the same decision Sunday week if they are at Longwood again??. Or did they kick up a stink to try and get the final moved from Longwood!!

Yeah interesting point Hank! I did hear that the league was considering moving that final now after all this had happened.... A few grounds were mentioned but will be interesting to see where this goes....

Yeah, does sound a bit fishy. Also if the ground was playable and 2 points awarded to each club, would set a very dangerous precedent.

From the report in th Shepp News today it does sound like it was a mutual decision between the two clubs, although sounds like they have gone over the league in that they inspected the ground during the week and gave it the green light. Would assume split points would be the outcome

Surely it should be up to the 2 clubs to decide whether the ground is fit to play.
Conditions can change from when the league inspects the ground mid week to saturday.
If one side decides it not safe enough but the other does then a league rep (neutral from both clubs) should be called to make the decision.

Both coaches deemed it unsafe so who ever gave you that mail is wrong pal

It must have been absolutely diabolical for Longwood to agree, last home game means last chance to make a quid and pay the bills (final notwithstanding). I think the article says that the league would "investigate". I'm with you Swoop, I have the same mail.

All parties meeting tomorrow night to discuss the matter What ever the outcome murch will go 21 days with out real contested footy under
there belt Good or bad!!!!!
Haha not sure playing longwood would be classed as a real contest either, heard from some Murch lads that Murch had offered there ground with all gate takings, canteen and bar to go straight to longwood. And some longwood committee members putting top soil on half and hour before the twos started along with a roller hitched up to a quad bike to try get the ground up to scratch. Who's the back up venue if longwood falls through ?

Any more word about Broadford wanting to enter the comp next year? Does it come down to a vote of club's or the KDFL executive?

What do you's think on the grand final going to the GV? Should it stay in the kdfl?

IMO from a players point of view it must stay at a GV ground I personally had the pleasure of playing in a GF at Mooroopnas ground couple years back and there is nothing that even gets close to a surface that good in the KDFL big game like that deserves the best facility available..

I think Doona it may come down to the clubs as to how they vote but you had never know, the VCFL or whoever they are now could over rule anyones decision and put them where they see fit..Stanger things have happened..
