Is there any truth to the rumour that Home and Away's Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart) is Sparra? As an aside, I've noticed that Big Footy has auto correction. This is obviously a way to make otherwise indecipherable posts readable.

I am just visiting from GVFL forum but I often observe this forum. Reading through old threads I see you played for Tatura back in the day. What is happening with Tat mate? They are rarely weak.

Let him gloat. It might have been a Sunday but pretty sad when the coach and mates doesn't even hang around for a water (or a shower) before getting in the car and leaving. Thanks to the other blokes who did, but seriously, would 30 minutes of sharing the love have hurt?

Hey mate, yeah I was only there for a couple of years, but as my wife is a Tat girl I have followed them for a very long time....
Look mate I think it was a slow demise of that all conquering 2012 side! With alot of their depth players leaving at the start of 2012 for Merrigum their 2's began to struggle, then obviously at the end of 2012 when SJ left there were several players that he had gotten to the club that departed also then over the last 2yrs they have lost a substantial amount of quality through the senior side....
Then obviously with a senior coaching issue last year & a number of injuries in the early part of this year they have hit a point where they will slowly work their way back to the top over the next couple of years....
They won't be down for long we can be comfortable in saying that.... But good to see it's going to be a tight season in the GVFL!
So another good win by the bats today??? Please give us the match report???
Big week for the kdfl interleague. How many from our original squad will put there hands up to play.. hopefully the whole squads fit which makes the selection of positions fought for.

Linc Wellington put in the book yesterday on a rough conduct charge by all reports not a lot in it very unlike linc who's record is pretty good the only thing is he was booked by Daren meek a very highly regarded umpire who will stick by his guns I'm sure the gum will have the gun onballer well represented at the tribunal!!
Must say from personal experience this year, if the umpire sticks to his guns Linc will be done for a week. As for myself, a clean bill of 10+ Yrs of football ie ( never reported or yellow carded ) in the area meant absolutely heck all and I was reported by a boundary ump and told after the game. Personally I think the tribunal is a joke. Hopefully Linc only gets a reprimand at worst as he has never been a dirty player and that's from playing along side him and watching him from over the fence.

I thought it had to be served through club games only but also not allowing you to play any representative footy in between? Hopefully come friday or whenever it is the correct ruling will be made & he'll be free to play both interleague & club games....

Exactly.... As far as I'm aware Interleague has no involvement with local league rulings/suspensions, so anyone suspended this week can't play interleague as you have to be cleared to the VCFL to play interleague & under VCFL laws you can not be cleared to another club/league whilst suspended meaning no interleague & club games until suspension is served at club level?

So as I said: 'double jeopardy'. Unless they let him play interleague he effectively serves an extra week on top of any (not yet) found club suspension.
Interesting to see the premiership betting - Lancaster 1.72, Merrigum 3.00, Nagambie 4.00. Unusual for an undefeated side to be paying 4.00 when they've beaten the two sides shorter than themself. I still probably feel lancaster will win but why would merrigum be shorter than Nag? Stanhope any chance of threatening if they get their full side on the field? Whose the ruckman for Lancaster at the moment and why can't their reserves ruckman Douglas get a game?
Umpire reputation has absolutely no bearing on a charge, should the umpire advocate go down this track it should be condemned by the player advocate. The tribunal can only decide on the evidence presented and any alluding as to to veracity of any evidence based on reputation is poor form. Like any umpire, Meek has made his share of howlers and has to present his evidence as it it is. It is bad enough that the following appears in the 2015 version of the GVFUA handbook, "Tribunal Members in our area are quite sympathetic to the umpire’s role", imagine if courts were permitted to take this attitude. If Linc has no previous prior suspensions, and the player continued on, and is found guilty the advocate should argue strongly for a reprimand.
