yer funny u say that because our 3rds team played our 1s team and bet them by bout 60 points and it wasnt ever a full game that was last yr. i few are playing 1s this yr will just have to wait n see how they go

sol sol sol.. who are you kidding mate? your a top bloke and everyone knows that, but you must of been smoking some pretty strong hash at that time of posting to write that.. with our best side in, we would of destroyed the avenel 3rds.. our blokes off the bench could have nearly covered some of your midfield.. this is the best team of last year including ACK blokes and im afraid we would of beaten avenel by 10+ goals..

this full team would of matched just about any GV team.. and without only Hesse and Dundon, we came 12 odd points close to Shepp Bears.. leading all game cept last 5 mins..

Just reading this with a bit of a laugh. In 2004 the under 15 grand final in the Goulburn VAlley League was won by Tabilk who were the champions and premiers. Their players then went on to play for either Nagambie or Avenel. Tabilk played against Broadford in the gf with Jamie Marsh getting the league medal - he of course went on to play for Avenel as well.
Jac Smith-William played in the 2005 gf for Avenel - and then left to play for Seymour because he couldn't break into the top player list. I reckon our boys would have kicked Seymour's lily white butts

Pretty sure Avenel were playin Alexandra 2day in a praccy match, b very interesting to see wat happens. Alex were always the ones 2 beat in my old league, the cgfl, against the ones 2 beat in my new league. Should be a goodn.

avenel didnt end up playing alex's thirds side fellas, sorry to disappoint. a firsts and seconds game was played with about half the avenel 2s side being made up of thirds. a few thirds blokes had a run in the 1sts, such as robbie sidebottom, ben ure, dj saunders, chriss chee and the williams boys. however, the seniors had a fair few out and so i would expect most of these boys to playing mostly if not exclusively thirds throughout the year. the plan is for the thirds to play west meadows' thirds next saturday at avenel, knock on wood.
