Look to be honest my friends will probably drag me to bloody Maccas on at least one occasion. Always end up there or Subway.

Subway.

Does anyone else find Subway completely disappointing?

I go there like every 6 months always expecting it to be delicious and it always leaves me unsatisfied.
On paper it should be good. It's just a bloody sandwich with a whole choice of toppings and yet..

Tastes alright for a bit but then you just taste all the processing.

It's just too easy to buy food from there. If only we had a few competitors like they do in the US.

If you are ever south enough go to Tony Ale's in Success/Jandakot/South Lakes or whatever suburb you want to call it and get a fresh made roll from the Deli. They are pretty good.

Turkish Place in Bay St, Brighton is always a solid feed. 4.5/10.

Sip N Bite in Ormond can provide a 24/7 late night hunger craving but god it's standard. 2/5. Can't complain though, most of it's client base are people looking for late night munchies.

Jimmy Grants... eugh. Can't believe this place gets the wraps that it does. Salty as anything, hard stringy meat and the cheese takes away flavour. 1.5/5.

Sip N Bite is alright I reckon. As you say, open late as well which is handy.

But there really don't seem to be too many kebab joints on this side of town...

Yet to check out Oasis Bakery a bit further down North Road but apparently it's quality. You're right though, wouldn't mind a couple more popping up.

Can't stand it. Only place near my work other than Maccas to get a quick feed. Absolute tripe.

Though a steak and cheese in flatbread with garlic aoili produces a half decent souv.

Have been to Oasis Bakery but not for a while now.

There's a place called "Aali's Kebabs" in Centre Road, Bentleigh which is OK, seems a bit dodgy though with different owners seemingly every time you go... Tastes alright though.

There's also a kebab van on South Road near Nepean Highway in Moorabbin which is a bit cheaper than the other places and open late but I find that their kebabs lack flavour.

That's pretty much it for the general area as far as I know. Always on the lookout for new places though!

Try Charman Kebabs at Cheltenham Station.

It's decent but that's about it, in truth it's overrated imo, the joint gets so much traffic there on weekends because it is pretty much the only legit Lebanese/Middle Eastern take out place around those areas for miles. There's other kebab joints floating about but Oasis does a hell of a lot more than just kebabs, you can get proper sit down meals, mini pizza's an assortment of other middle eastern type foods as well as sweets and it has it's own grocery store. So it's a little more than just a kebab joint.

Anyone notice how stingy kebab joints are with the garlic sauce? You ask for extra or a lot and they barely put anything.

I don't even care if they start charging extra just put stacks of it. It basically makes or breaks the kebab imo.

I have found that you always get more with Doner kebabs. Souvlaki shops are the stingy ones

The Charcoal Chicken in Mentone have some of the best souvlaki's I have ever had in my life. The Athenian is amazing

Opposite the station?

Clayton kebab house i think its called in the main strip of Clayton shops is pretty good. Boundary rd in Braeside is ok, open late has a shish cafe? smoke house type of set up like a turkish restaurant, usually pretty busy.

There is a new turkish cafe at the Vic Market -had a magnificent kebab and turkish coffee the other day. do yourselves a favour
