Gonna have a kebab here in Cheltenham after work. Will give you a report after consumption.

Oh really? Haven't been there in just over a year, that's really unfortunate news. I'm not sure what to believe in anymore haha

Yeah the first time it happened I thought oh well just a once off they were due.

But unfortunately it has happened a few times since. Just really dry and lacking taste.

Went back for one last try and the wife was there and it was back to it's best, now I drive past check if the wifes there and if she isn't move on to Mickleham Road.

I'm probably a decade out of date now, but another good place in my student days was the ANU Student Union Kebab stall.

They were one of those places where they take the meat off in big long juicy strips instead of little shavings. Used to pack them full of extras for free as well :thumbsu:

Best I've been to recently...

Melbourne kebab station.
Richmond kebab house.
clayton kebab house (probably the best)

clayton kebabs are jam packed with meat and they have a really nice chilli dip that goes well with the garlic dip.

Is that the one in the Clayton shops or the one up on Dandenong Road?

Mr Funny Kebab (469 Sydney Road, Coburg, VIC) - 5 stars

If you give Mr funny kebabs, the one up the top of Sydney road and Bell street is the one I think your speaking of 5 stars, you should walk a couple of shops down to Kebab station!!! That would be 10 stars in comparison.

I cant believe the small amount of mention in this thread for Kebab station?!?!?!

It is by far the best I've had!!!! People should try their shish meals.....absolutly awesome.

Mr Funny, the one that used to be on Spencer street in West Melb, was good for a late night feed. But seems to have gone now.

Is Haci's the one on the corner of Bell street & St Georges Road? In the caravan? Opposite the Mcdonalds?

Have been passed it a million times...I must drop in one day.

The one on King street, between Flinders street and Flinders lane...is crap of the highest order. Dont bother.

Is that right near Auburn station? F*** me they pack their kebabs so generously!

Ye, just down the road mate, right near Swinburne. They do pack them generously...mixed kebab with extra garlic sauce and you're set!

A few mates and I have made a habit of going to the gym then smashing down one of these kebabs afterwards every Tuesday. Quality.

Oh man this thread is making me want a kebab.

If it wasn't for my damn parents in the next room I would.

As for good kebabs, Indian restaurant (yes, it's weird, used to be a car wash, then a kebab place, now an Indian restaurant which does kebabs) on the corner of Jasper and Centre Rd Bentleigh. Damn good and open till 3am most nights from memory.

I retract my hasty call in my first post, the best kebab in Perth is clearly at the Turkish Kitchen

theyre good for open kebab plates.

however id strongly suggest you to try their iskender. for those who are playing at home, iskender is a disk which consists of massive lamb or chicken slices mixed with chunks of turkish bread, i believe a spicy tomato sauce and a turkish version of tziaziki (sp?).

delicious. and very filling. best value for ten bucks.

Got another one from Richmond kebab house during the week because of this thread. Going to go to some of the good ones nominated to compare. They would need to be pretty good, pretty pretty good.

It's called "Wrap n Go". It's very good, but it has been closed for a while now. Not really sure what's going on. Hopefully it reopens as their kebabs are great. Been tempted to try their Indian food but always end up opting for a kebab.

Another (or at least the only other that I know of) good place in the area is called "Sip n Bite Kebabs", which is on North Road in the set of shops before Red Rooster. Also open late at night and does other stuff too like chips, chicken nuggets, dim sims etc.

In my experience, that's really about it as far as this area is concerned. Surely there must be some others around?

Also in Vic park the All Night Pizza Cafe does kebabs and I enjoy them but I've never had one sober so don't go there for a casual lunch.
