Keep him or Trade Him?

Cogs will be on the long term injury list. He'll start pre season ready for next year and could possibly do his knee again. The question is more - Do we give him a go next year? I don't think we will get anyone or a draft pick with his injury history. He is one of the best players on our list when fit, I would hope the outcome would be for Cogs to take a reduced contract and see how he goes!

just found out today that cogs didnt do his knee in the shower as stated in the media, he did it on the dance floor at a club. im not lieing or making it up
That's got much more street cred than falling over in the shower. Nice one Cogs! :thumbsu:

I've said it in other boards and I'll say it here: Cogs is a lot younger than Luke Darcy and if Darcy can produce the goods after back-to-back knee recons, so can Cogs (and you would think Cogs will recover even better due to his age).

Quite aside from the fact that even talking delist/trade about a loyal player who's injured himself is even ruder than the Kellaway incident (about which I was not happy), I reckon we'd be mad to consider either trading or delisting. Trade: as has been said, no other club is going to go for a bloke immediately after doing his knee; delist: we miss out on 5+ years* of an elite midfielder for absolutely nothing.

* Assuming Cogs isn't going to do a Robert Harvey and play until he's 90.
