different opposition. we are in trouble when the opposition put pressure on our ball carrier. Adelaide effectively cut off our ability to switch play and create space. Give us space and we will kill you, starve us of space and we look very ordinary. The good teams take our space.
Half of them weren't under pressure, that's the thing...

Because over the last 12 months we have beaten sides like Geelong (at Geelong) Melbourne (at the Gee) smashed WC in the pre season derby (the only pre season match that both clubs take seriously) and generally have established a very good away record (especially in Melbourne) where our success rate is well over 50% in the last 2 or 3 years. Clearly we have the ability and our home record is what has held us back.

To be honest, I think we're half a chance this Sunday. St Kilda are overrated in their own minds, and there's not a lot of pressure on us to win. Those sort of conditions we thrive in - see the 2 games last year you speak of.

The derby is a different game. To beat the Eagles, you need to break even with their midfield. We're not even doing that against far worse midfields.

For some reason teams prefer to have the underdog status. My guess is we will have the honour this week.
What will be more important this week at least will be which team will be under the most pressure to perform. Saints are without doubt premiership contenders in a lot of peoples' opinions (mine included). They are now 2 and 2, a loss this week and they will really be under the microscope. They will be under more pressure than us. So in some ways we should be playing under less percieved pressure than they. I am hoping this pressure (thingybob) will affect their game and give us some sought of relaxed approach to the outcome.

As with all games ......... cant bloody wait:)

10 wins 4 losses from last 14 matches. I am not saying that Connolly has arrived or the team, but lets not jump on them too much when the next bump arrives.

By the way, that is 82 matches now since we last got beat by more than 10 goals. (round 13, 2002). I agree with Connolly's statements on the weekend that we never give in which always makes us a chance in every game ..

What is wrong with some of you lot. We have had the best start to the season ever, just beaten two of the better sides in the comp and we are poised to be a top four team and it it still not OK.

You lot still calling for CCs head are nothing but a pack of clowns. He has steadily laid the building blocks - building a quality side and club that will give the GF a shake in September. And we still have negativity.

How about backing CC and enjoying the ride to September finals time.

What a great win and we knocked the useless winging lot up the road down a few pegs. Hope we meet them in September.
