Since he's been installed he has engaged, consulted and informed all stakeholders involved in major decisions, several of which have been very delicate situations. He is particularly adept in making people/entities feel as if they have been listened to and considered, while advancing PAFC's position in all cases. You will never see this guy deliberately try to piss someone off. Absolute master class.

The only time I've seen him look outwardly frustrated in any capacity was amidst the stonewalling and blanket ignorance from certain SANFL stakeholders during the Reserves/Zones saga.

And even then he conducted himself with nothing but grace and class.

Kochie, KT and Ken think alike on the subject of culture. You can see it in their actions - it's not just lip service.

Kochie's catch-cry is culture trumps strategy. But that's not to say the latter is over-looked. These guys, plus the Board, are seriously good at strategy. Just look at our marketing as an example. It's gone from local, to national and now international (with the help of our friend Lockhart Road).

Our club is in the best of hands.

I consider our club run by a 'gang of four' - the chair, the ceo, the coach and the captain. It's the CEO that sets the tone though, and Keith does it so well. What's so noticeable with us compared to other clubs is the total lack of ego- or rather, the ego is subsumed into one entity, the PAFC.

I don't care to write on this forum just how optimistic I am about the future, but I think I'm not the only one that can forsee a golden, and premiership laden future ahead for us. Not because we're special, or because we're fortunate, or because we're pretty. It's because we work harder, and smarter, and for each other, more then anyone else. And our Casual Keith Thomas is the leader of this wonderful enterprise.

I'll never get to thank him in person so I guess this is a thank you note to our KT- champion footballer, and champion fellow. Proud to support this club and thanks for turning things around.

Casual Keith did me a huge favour earlier in the year. At the Honour Board sign up day held on a Saturday morning I had a chat with him about geting my 2013 Legends #16 guernsey signed by Ollie and Tredders. He told me to leave it with him and he would get it organised once the players returned from their break.

True to his word, a few weeks later I get a phone call to collect said guernsey which is now in the process of being framed.

So right, Stan. KT sets the standard, sets the tone; hires the staff, fires the staff.

If you don't hear from me again after this weekend, you'll know I stuffed up.

Or did so good a job you're now covered by the club's non-disclosure agreements. :)

That will mean I'm on the payroll and can give up my day job/s. Nice thought.

I truly admire the man. I have met and observed a handful of Adelaide based CEOs/GMs over the years who kick quite a bit of arse. I aspire to be like them, even though I realise the kind of sacrifice it will take.

Not long ago we had Kochie announcing Port were going to play a game in Macau.

Now we have KT reportedly - I say again: reportedly - wishing for Port to play a game in Hong Kong.

Anyone keen for a glimpse of just how far Port has come off the field in recent years need only poke their head into the club's function in Sydney on the eve of the SCG contest.

More than 300 people packed into a ballroom at the immense Ivy precinct in the heart of the CBD on Friday for a celebration marking the 10th anniversary of the Power's 2004 premiership victory over the Brisbane Lions.

South Australian premier Jay Weatherill was among the guests, along with a host of ex-South Australian businessmen based in Sydney who are part of an advisory board trying to push the club's brand.

A club that was on its knees and stuck near the foot of the ladder as recently as three years ago is making great strides and has even greater ambitions.

"Port Adelaide in Sydney is not what you'd naturally think of," Thomas said.

"We've got an eastern advisory board working with us and we just feel this is all part of the strategy of broadening the appeal of Port Adelaide.

"First and foremost we need to be a great club on-field. We need to play well.

"Then you need to be able to create a program that delivers sustained success, year in year out always at the top, which is something Sydney have been able to do very well.

"We aspire to be that.

"We feel as if we can grow our presence in Sydney. We'd love to play a game in Hong Kong.

Miss Road was at the Ivy Room today, sending me bulletins. This piece of misreporting is probably all her fault.

Port Adelaide vs Sydney in Hong Kong would be okay but I worry that Sydney would snaffle potential sponsors on us. They're a ruthless, cut-throat mob, those Swans, not sure we should be doing too much business with them off the field.

I don't have a problem with them being that way, just we should be wary is all.

I'm fairly sure Miss Road caught my eye.... ;)

Great show yesterday and I'll provide more details later when sobererer.

Lucy Cornes was MC and did an outstanding job.

Apologies for going slightly off topic but one of the options for Chooseday night football is the 1987 State of Origin game, SA v Vic. The last time I spoke to Keith he said that he played State of Origin in the 1980's & was not impressed with the Camry's attempt to wear the State guernsey for Showdown 36.
I was only young at the time but do any of you know if Keith played for SA in that game?, as I like watching old games & it would be interesting to watch our CEO playing the game for SA, not Norwood.

Surely you're at your sobererest by now, Edward ?
