So much :hearts: for KT, the man who started it all.

Wouldn't say he is the smoothest speaker but he is brilliant at conveying information and emotion, speaks with a crystal clear mind- ZERO waffle or propaganda. Every sentence has a purpose and you can't help but feel his genuineness and sincerity. Bloody brilliant.

What I was most impressed with and something which would possibly separate him from other administrations, is that he was able to see past the spite and hatred of those he was negotiating with, resist the temptation to send them a big fat f&*k you by uprooting ourselves and moving to the vfl, and has ultimately come to a compromise which suits BOTH parties and is, dare I say it BETTER for us long-term than even the initial system. We are truly blessed to have a mind like his making decisions for our club.

Don't forget that KT brought in the rest of the crew who have as a group dragged us back out of the gutter- he sought them all out and brought them in. Keith Thomas has saved our club.

Spare a thought for Mark Haysman, who was the first to have the balls to kick the SANFL's door in and start making shit happen - stadium deals, One Club, Adelaide Oval.

The delicious irony that he was led to the gallows and replaced with a guy amazing enough to not only continue his work, but improve upon it.

The final frontier is the AO stadium deal. A fair deal there and the world is our pearl-filled clam.

Just watched his presentation, was very impressed, this is the way for us to move forward, be united & be successful ... :thumbsu:

I thought to myself I should probably watch this speech. Was transfixed to the screen within 1 minute. The guy is pure class and smart as f***.

“your like a young tony soprano”

He is the first peice of the puzzle of the successful Port Adelaide. Took on the job when most thought he would be crazy to and would be a career suicide.

Wish our PM was more like KT.

Just saw the presentation, our man is a god like figure among sanfl pissant spineless wannabes.
I cannot believe I thought he may be a snafl plant when he first joined us.

Plus, a big fat lol at the idiot twiggy. I wonder how long until those coat tail riders come out whining about their shite deal ath he signed, or maybe it was a small clerical error !!

And to finish, how embarrassing would it be to support the clowns up the road with their dimwit, lackey, starfish lapping management team :D

We add a good stadium deal to this situation, with everything else we've got lined up currently, we'll be a monster in a decade. A monster.

We still don't have our own AFL licence. This is key to becoming a powerhouse.

We must break the SANFL shackles as you can see by the reserve side conditions they have not care what is in our best interest and will continue to siphon our cash flow with charges.

Well that's another thing I love about this current administration- they don't chew on the previous custodians. It seemed for a while there any past players or off-field staff left on bad terms at Port, but KT and co have recognised the importance of fostering goodwill from past club servants and rebuild that community.

Imagine being a Norwood AND Crows supporter, knowing one of the great players at their club in the 1980's, is doing great things for their AFL club's rival, whilst their club is stuck with this ex Centrals and North bloke (and ex Sturt coach), who has done so much damage.

anyone know what he meant by collingwood reacting to it?
Collingwood are looking at doing a similar setup of their football structure.

Watching the video of his speech, I took a few things from it that I didn't get from the text:
  • Keith is absolutely furious at the SANFL, his body language was indicative of a man who has been driven to the edge of frustration
  • He feels that the SANFL have been obstructionist, and are not interested in negotiation
  • He genuinely believes that the offer on the table is the best offer that we will get
For mine, particularly early in the speech, he was barely holding back rage. I would guess that this has taken a lot out of Keight the last few months, and I think he deserves credit for what he's managed to put together.
That said, it's not a situation without losses. While Keith was spinning it in a positive light, it's clear that there are items that he doesn't agree with, and he's been forced into the position of making a compromise. I love that he was willing to put it all out there and provide people the context.
What's the go with the not bothering to talk to Centrals and that he didn't see much value in that?

Great post tribey. :thumbsu:

KT is doing a fair ol job but some of the comments are over the top imo. Keith still isnt in the same league as the Crows CEO. I hope that if Keith keeps working hard and improving he will in the not too distant future be able to match the performances of Trigg. You have to admire Trigg's fortitude, honesty, integrity, competence, he never takes a backward step and is always putting the AFC first over and above his personal ambitions. Keith is starting to remind me a little of him but he has a long way to go yet to match Trigg.

Please stop the negative comments on twiggy, if we arent careful the evil overlords will replace him with someone half competent and the cows may actually improve.

It has been amazing what has transpired over the last 12 months. Truly ****ing amazing.

A Tale of Two Football Clubs.

One on it's knees 12 months ago, sacked coach, Sacked President, Player death, No Money, No future, No Hope - the other a kick away from the Grand Final, the Pride Of South Australia. My, my how the worm has turned. KT is the architect of all of this. ALL OF IT!

He has a couple of big fights left on his hands, the license and the stadium deal, but given what has transpired so far, we are in very, very good hands. Koch is a brilliant compliment calling out the SANFL at every opportunity on a NATIONAL platform, but make no mistake the nuts and bolts are all KT.

This club is going places.
