KT say sat next to me (well next to ppl he clearly knew, I was on the other side..) when Hinkley was speaking. Whole bunch of man love for that guy. Told him he was spot on with his comments

I wonder if an afl coaching career was ever beckoning for Cornes before that time? Would he have had an afl career if not for the events of 1990?
No, if the events of 1990 hadn't happened, Graham would still be coaching Glenelg.

Ah... sorry, got a bit confused. Of course Onward To Victory is not KT. It's all @RickingFish's bloody fault. Got me flying last night and stiffed me with the bill. That's okay because Rick luvs KT. Told me so.

Hire that man as your wealth builder, he has it down patt! :)

Sent KT an email this afternoon kindly requesting that the letters atop the N.L. Williams Memorial scoreboard be repaired, raised the idea of the scoreboard being renamed (since Norman Williams was a PACC not PAFC legend, and they relocated twenty years ago) and thanked him for his hard work.

Had a response within half an hour (half an hour for some scrub member!):
Thanks Isaac.

Scoreboard repair duly noted. On to it!

I believe the opportunity to revisit the naming of the scoreboard will occur naturally with our new plans for the Alberton Oval precinct, within a couple of years. But that is a conversation for another day.

Thanks for kind words,

Regards,

KT

KT's theme song?

Well that confirms that Alberton is going to have some big changes, like some of the hints have told us. Hamish Hartlett's "I think we have some big plans at alberton" comment was the first indication.

A murky shadow decends over the future of the Port Club as we know it. I think it will become a thick fog if no investment is made into the establishment within the next 12 months - it will make it obvious they've got their eyes elsewhere. Could be in for a full overhaul which would be fantastic for supporters, probably not the best return though.

The use of the word 'precinct' is interesting. That implies more than just the oval and the club rooms and (just hypothesising here) may take in the bowling club, car park and other nearby properties.

Legit thought it was another Williams as in Fos clan. The more you know.

That scoreboard was erected by the cricket club many years ago. The story goes that when the Power was granted the control of the ground and the Cricket Club relocated they investigated dismantling the scoreboard and moving it to Port Reserve. They found that it had been attacked by white ants etc. and moving it was too expensive so it remains where it is. Not sure how accurate that story is.

If we remember back to the One Club meetings there were all sorts of plans afoot. A second gaming venue up north, extensive renovations to the POW and moving the Port Club to the Port Road were just a few. Of course at that time the Club was in dire financial straits but as we are now more solvent the plans might have changed.

I think there has been plans to revamp Alberton oval and our club infrastructure for a while. From memory, I seem to remember some of this being planned when Haysman and co were about.

I was at a couple of meetings where discussions were centred on changing the club layout so we could have more retail outfits bringing income in, along with a number of other plans. That was in 2010. Now that we look like our financial future is more stitched up it would not surprise me if other plans have been added.

High rise apartment block with multi retail outlets on ground floor and restaurant/bars overlooking ground.

I can just see the marketing campaign now:

*Fade in to a artistic panorama of an empty Alberton Oval*

TIM GINEVER: For years, those that have loved this club and what it stood for have had their ashes scattered across its hallowed turf, wanting to forever be a part of the rich history...

*Cut to a montage of epic moments in PAFC history*

TIM GINEVER: Now, for the first time...you can live with that history. In conjunction with Shanghai CRED, the Port Adelaide Football Club is pleased to introduce The Premier Apartments - part of the new Alberton Oval precinct.

*Screen cuts to black with the apartment block logo...then cuts to the tag line: Live @ Alberton Oval*
